Looks to me like rebadged Italian somethings-or-another. WW certainly didn't make that model or sell them in the USA.

The washer looks virtually identical to a Bendix washer that was in an apartment I rented about 8 years ago, and the machine was 10 years old then!

Looks like a Bendix to me too.
Would be a fun machine to play with, those older Bendix models had an interesting drum, The paddles in the drum were moulded in the stainles steel, not plastic paddles inserted later on, and each lower hald of the paddle had holes on it but not along the ridge were you you expect it to shower the water out.
