I thought it would be fun for us to share our first gay crush.

For me there is no question. The first time I saw Jon Erik Hexum, my heart skipped a beat. When he died tragically in 1984, at age 26, I was crushed.

I then knew I was gay. No question.

I had so many crushes... I was a walking hormone all through puberty.

If you're talking about celebrity crushes, I always went for boyish types, not overly muscular. The first I remember were:

Kent McCord (Adam-12 TV show)
Andy Williams (blame my mother)
Rock Hudson (4-alarm gaydar, even before he came out publicly)
Robert Reed
James MacArthur (book 'em Dan-O)
Jim Hutton
Ken Berry
Bobby Darin
Lee Majors
Harrison Ford

I can remember who my first in person crush was, but not my celebrity crush. Probably Tom Wopat and John Schneider. I was a huge fan of The Dukes Of Hazzard lol. I think it was the tight jeans.

Eric Paulsen, journalist and news anchorman of WWL-TV in Louisiana, is Jon-Erik’s cousin. Shane i thought you might appreciate this little bit of trivia. alr2903

Well, Shane,

we actually agree on something.
A first!

My crushes were Race Bannon, Captain Kirk, Sulu (whom they often managed to get shirtless, yum) and, later John Schneider and Phil Morris.

And I really wanted to dress like Barbara Stanwyck in the westerns.

Sigh.

I was always into Bears, and otters

Dan Blocker, and Burt Reynolds.

There is a reason: My father was very hairy, and after he died when I was five..........

I wanted Dan Blocker as sort of a dad, and Burt Reynolds as sort of a brother.

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Hmm,

I would have taken Burt Reynolds over my brother any day.

Actually, I wanted a dog.

But never mind. Furry men, bears or otters are just wonderful. I am soooo happy that this nonsense about waxed chests is over and done with.

If a guy has a nice six-pack, well, ok. Otherwise, it's like all those idiots you see out bicycling in lycra...like, maybe one out of a hundred can carry it off ---and they're usually in baggies and a ripped T-shirt 'cause they can't be bothered.

My first crush was a local neighbor named Jeff who I remember walking home with oneday where we both layed on a lounge chair, fell asleep and I woke up about an hour later seeing his boner hanging down his right thigh ever so beautifuly throbing, begging to release but, being 9 years old was a serious issue for me at that time.My second was Chad Everit on Medical Center.

My first crush had to be Speed Racer back when I was about three or four years old. I remember being fascinated with him. I can also remember having several orgasms while thinking about him (when I was three or four, of course!).

The next I remember was Sean Cassidy. Nncchh - Nuff Said.

Jim - From Wild Wild West

Can't for the life of me remember his name right now, but YUMMIE!

The other was Doug from Days of Our Lives - OK laugh all you want! My great aunt watched it when she baby sat for me and knowing that if I watched with her I would see him shirtless, well, I sat through all the episodes I could. I was pretty young, but this is when I realized I was gay. Though it would be 15 years before I came out...

It was a lifeguard at the local pool - he was straight, but well, he was easily influenced too. He had the 'swimmer's build', nice abs, curly blonde hair, and green eyes... sigh.
Better still he had 3 hot brothers who also lifeguards...

Robert Conrad!

STILL makes me skip a beat...I'd like to make a DEAL with him! THANK YOU for the picture! AAAAAAHHHHHH SO YUMMIE!

Ben?

I have watched that video several times trying to figure out if it is Ben? One way or the other it is EASY to watch. I definitely think he has aged well and is more attractive now!

I'm trying to think of my "EUREKA" ["I found/get it"] moment.

I'd enjoy going to the depatment stores with my father when he was buying new clothing, oooh how I enjoyed seeing the guys in the fitting room in their undies............

I remember thinking as very young boy, why do mom and dad sleep in the same bed? EWWWWWWWWW....

I remember some of the innocent "show and (don't)tell" kids do.

I remember in grannmmar/elementary school one particulary exhibitionistic student of my age would try to pee on the moving flies in the boy's rest room. He peed on everyting! *LOL* and put on quite a show.

*SIGH* innocence.

IIRC, according to Masters & Jonhson sexuality researchers one in three males has a same-sex experience of some type by the age of twenty-something. Some grow out of it, some don't............

Jon Erik Hexum

What 80's something show was he in? I didn't miss an episode of that because of him...Otherwise I don't think it was all that good. IIRC there was many a scene with him awakened in the middle of the night sleeping in his undies of course...OR maybe that's the only part of the show I remember...AND the theme song was "Holding Out for a Hero". To which I ask, "Weren't we all?"

Here in tolerant

Europe, (that is, Easter Border Germany going south, north and all the way to the West), the question gets answered more along the line of 3/4 of all men try sex both ways and then we see the 90% straight, 10% gay pattern settle in and stay by the early 20's.

The christianists can scream and shout all they want, but now that science and medicine have clearly shown we are neither perverted nor defective (rather, anatomically speaking the opposite) it is only a question of time before we are granted human status throughout the West.

Several people have pointed out - including a few hot photos, thanks, that I meant Greg and not his son. Frankly, I meant both. My mom wouldn't let me watch Mission Impossible until I was old enough to have my own TV and she didn't know.

Ah, yes Mr. "Has to wear two jock straps" Burt Ward, 'cause we don't want anybody to thing Bruce's ward is a man...?! Poor Adam West, who was stuffing his, er, stocking, like mad, having to stand next to this:

Lest we forget our patron saint.......Jim Palmer

This gentleman was my very first Gay crush. I remember that he was featured prominently in all the periodicals aimed towards the "FE-males" of the day such as Better Homes and Gardens and Good Housekeeping amongst others.

I'm sure I'm not alone here, as he was kinda that goofy alpha male that many fantasized over. I feel however, that what's MORE important, is that he helped bring male sexiness OUT during most of the late 1970's and 1980's. It was this advertising campaign, that broke the taboo of a man having a "package" and not some airbrushed bump. As soon as I saw Mr. Palmer in his Elance' briefs, then I knew I was. Gay, oh happy gay.

He still makes me fan myself....

Chad

Panthera,

Obvious we have good taste in men. I was 13 when the Wild, Wild West first came on. Like I have said in my previous posts, I wasn't into Westerns like my Dad and other brothers. But there was something about Jim West in this show that set my hormones rushing! I just thought he was the coolest, sexiest man I have ever seen. Always had nice clothes and a nice body to go with it. My fantasy at 13 was to be Jim's side-kick/friend (with all the benefits of course) like " Artemus Gordon" I believe I still have a large poster of him. I still like to watch the reruns to this day.

I don't recall Hexum having a series, but do remember a made-for-TV movie he did with Joan Collins who at the time was a hot commodity due to her Alexis Carrington-Colby-Dexter character on "Dynasty." If I recall correctly, the TV movie was titled "The Making of a Male Model," a blatant beefcake offering if there ever was one, showing off this hunk's incredible physique. He had the deepest voice of anyone in the business at the time. Just all man, and buffed out beyond belief.

He couldn't act at all, but who cared?

Lawrence, I'm with you on Dan Blocker, but he actually held the #2 spot with me for Bonanza men. Pernell Roberts had my full attention until he left the show, then it was all Dan.

Clint Walker? Yes, I waited hopefully for a scene that showed at least some of his beautiful chest whenever I came across any show he was in.

My take on "The Wild, Wild West" was that it had the most potential of any TV show by far for a glimpse of a hard bodied male. Conrad had his shirt off in what seemed like every other episode, and it was appointment TV for sure.

Ralph

Hexum couldn't ACT?!

I never noticed, but I sure did watch everything he was in. Can't imagin what was distracting me.

The Wild, Wild West - GAWD I miss that show!

Hugh Jackman

can't act, either - but who cares.
Now, one German actor whose poor English I am totally willing to forgive is Logan McCree.
Like to see him on TV.
And I don't mean pay-per-view, turn on the vibrating bed, motel TV, either.

He'd be a great private Dick...
