Japanese fridges
Obscure Japanese fridges are reasonably common here in Australia (Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp and Panasonic all make fridges available to purchase). They cool really well and get rave reviews but for some of them, the layout can be a little strange. Was looking at one in a showroom recently, it had special compartments and crispers you won't find in Western style fridges (for fish, or prepared vegetables for instance) but lack the traditional dairy keeper compartments, etc. They also have areas that can either be used as a fridge, a freezer, or somewhere in between, depending on the setting - perhaps that's what the bottom compartment is on this fridge?
