Who's heard of a Hitachi Fridge?

That's a RARE find!

Hitachi fridges and microwave ovens used to be around in the States quite frequently in the 70s and 80s, but must say THIS model is one I never saw here before. Possibly Europe/Japan/Canada only?
As for how well this one might operate, it's hard to say. I had a single door version of this back in circa 1985 and it was wonderful--cannot say much on longevity 30-odd years on though...

Never heard of one.

Is the last door at the bottom for storage?  As in not refrigerated?

Japanese fridges

Obscure Japanese fridges are reasonably common here in Australia (Mitsubishi Electric, Sharp and Panasonic all make fridges available to purchase). They cool really well and get rave reviews but for some of them, the layout can be a little strange. Was looking at one in a showroom recently, it had special compartments and crispers you won't find in Western style fridges (for fish, or prepared vegetables for instance) but lack the traditional dairy keeper compartments, etc. They also have areas that can either be used as a fridge, a freezer, or somewhere in between, depending on the setting - perhaps that's what the bottom compartment is on this fridge?
