Hey Guys,

Yes, I'm the lucky winner of the WI-56 set that Robert posted for sale earlier this month. I had a lot of trouble contacting the owner. We were playing e-mail and phone tag for over a week, and because of both my schedule and the seller's schedule it took another 2 weeks before I could pick them up. I wanted to wait until I actually had them in my possession before I let everyone know who won the "lottery".

I finally picked up the set this past Fri in Michigan. Only 3 hour drive away. I got to meet the original owner. Both her, her husband and daughter were very nice. They even helped Lou and me get them out of the basement and into the cargo van-- very nice people.

The owner stated that she had bought the set new. She stopped using the washer around 1961--- the timer had stopped advancing and she had to manually advance it during the wash cycle. So the washer was only used for 5 to 6 years and has sat idle for the past 47. She continued to use the dryer for some time afterwords.

The set appears to be in great shape. However, the timer does not advance as the owner stated. The pulsator and agitator rings are of course "petrified" on the pulsator column from lack of use all these years. The dryer appears to be in great shape.

I just want to give a public thank you out to Robert for offering the set to the group and following the sale of the set with me via email---- Thanks Robert !!!
I will be posting pics on the set and give updates on it's return ( with some help from me) to its former glory.
