Wife asked f I was running the dishwasher again?

This morning as I was starting the dishwasher, my wife asked again? Normally it is every 2-3 days, now sometimes twice a day!!!!!!! But since I have been off I am cooking more. I have been only off since March 20th but so far I have made, lasagna, pot roast, corned beef and cabbage, meatloaf, pulled pork, fried chicken, sloppy joes, spageheti and meat sauce, ravioli, Swedish meatballs, hamburgers, hot dogs. chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pie, turkey dinner, marble cake.

Mike, I can relate. I've been working from home since March 17th. I've been living off leftovers in the freezer predominantly thus far. But will be doing a beef stew and chicken enchilada casserole this weekend at least.

Nice job of loading!  The loads in my Miele can vary widely.  This week I made split pea soup and a couple of large pots took up almost half of the bottom rack.  I don't feel guilty when the machine isn't quite full because it doesn't use nearly as much water as a vintage dishwasher.

She was only asking because she saw me put the pod in and turn it on. It does not make any noise so if you don't see the red light shine on the floor you never know its on.

I cannot put most of my cookware in because it is not dishwasher safe. I have Calphalon, hand wash only. But everything else goes in, no pre rinsing, just scrape off the big stuff in the sink and in it goes. It will wash off the hardest baked on stuff I have ever seen since my mom's 1976 GE Potscrubber

Great job loading your Bosch! I’ve been cooking something almost every day, as well. The upright freezer and the freezer section of the fridge are full of portioned casseroles, sloppy joes, chili, homemade hamburger buns, and a lot of soup. I even made cheese grits yesterday! Been looking through the pantry in an effort to use up odds and ends. Happy eating!

I've been doing the same, lots more eating and cooking and daily running of the dw as opposed two every couple of days before this all started. . I never get our Bosch loaded as tidely as that though.. impressive.

I'm on vacation and have actually cooked a meal for a change.  Dishwasher has been run twice this week already.

Because I stopped cooking and chose to get my meals delivered, there are no bob loads for the dishwasher anymore. But I run it every 5 days or so. On the first days I do some pre-rinsing so the dishwasher doesn't become stinky. I'd hate that.

<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">I got up in the morning and unloaded the machine.  I started cooking a few things for the friends we cook for, made breakfast and a few other things and within a few hours it was full again. He walked into the kitchen as I was starting it and asked why I was running it again.  I pointed to the banana muffins on the counter with the cream cheese frosting that he asked for and just looked at him.  He just smiled and walked off.</span>

 

<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">I find these days my loads are more cooking utensils and fewer dishes than the other way around.  The thing I was eager to see with this load was the pie dish in the bottom rack.  I had made a quiche and put it on a foil lined cookie sheet.  It bubbled over in the oven and the egg burned onto the bottom.  I actually had to peel away some of the foil.  The bottom of the pie dish wasn't being hit directly by the bottom spray but it still came perfectly clean.  I was surprised.  I guess the middle spray arm must also spray down.  In the clean picture it looks like there is some brown left but it a reflection.  The bottom was perfectly clean.  I should have taken a picture of the bottom.</span>

 

<span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">There is a lot of talk about detergent lately.  I used a Miele Ultra tab in this load.  I have used Cascade pods and it was too much foaming.  I've used Finish and it was OK but I always felt there was a little something on the dishes.  The Miele tabs really take it to the next level.  I am still amazed that I can go two weeks without cleaning the filter and it still never stinks.    </span>

Ralph, my dishes and bakeware look similar to yours when they go in and always come out spotless also. I use Finish Quantum all the time and along with Finish Jet Dry and dump about a tablespoon of The Lemi Shine in at the start, we have semi hard water and it helps keep the stainless cleaner and spot free. I usually only clean the filters when I remember and its just a few times a year and they are never really dirty.

I'm currently using my first bucket of Kirkland dw tabs and they're good. Haven never had problems with the Cascade with Dawn, or Finish Quantuums either.

<span style="font-family: georgia, palatino;">The piece I forgot to mention is that we have mechanically softened water and a complete tab is too much soap.  The finish tabs wouldn't split easily and the cascade is almost all liquid.  What I like about the Miele tabs is I can easily cut one in half and I still get good results.  I use 1/2 on loads that aren't as dirty.  I never tried the Lemi Shine.</span>

I might have to try some Miele tabs. We have been running our DW daily since quarantine due to all the extra cooking and eating at home. It is kind of nice, though. We only run the dishwasher when full as well. Just from an efficiency standpoint, there is not really a reason to underload.

With two teenagers in the house it's easy to have 2 loads. They are constantly raiding refrigerator, cooking or snacking. I load stainless steel pots, large salad plates, they take space.
