I've had the Rhodes at my sister's a few times, and they're ok, but not near as good as her homemade rolls or cinnamon bread.
I can hardly stand ANY of the Pillsbury refrigerated dough products - sorry Doughboy!
I shop at Meijer once every couple of weeks. It's about 20 minutes away. Never had their brand of cinnamon rolls.

Timely topic, we just bought Pillsbury cinnamon rolls this week. Haven't had them in years. I love them on a cold winter morning.
I have also heard of Rhodes cinnamon rolls. Don't believe I ever tried them.
For something mass produced, Holiday Inn has great breakfast cinnamon rolls, big too. My aunt sometimes stays at the Holiday Inn when she's visiting here and always brings me one or two in a take out box.

Some Rhodes products are available here but I don't recall having yet purchased any. Will check for cinnamon rolls at next opportunity.
Sister Schubert's is also available. I may have tried those a couple times.
I usually buy pastries from the local donut shop, the Czech bakery/smokehouse, the local grocery/bakery, or Walmart.
Is Meijers like a Super Target or a Super WalMart? Is it more grocery than general merchandise or vice versa or about equal? Thanks.

Rhodes products are from Salt Lake City...there's a good part of the answer!
Where I lived in rural WA the last 4 years with a large Mormon and evangelical population Rhodes anything was big! Rhodes cinammon rolls flew out of the freezers at Safeway and others store. When I did the City Thanksgiving feeds I used Rhodes dinner rolls only! Nothing easier than to fill full sheets pans with dough balls to thaw 3-4 hours and then bake! Nothing easier or cheaper to feed a crowd. Even Ree Drummond "The Pioneer Woman," has without saying the brand featured them on her show. Greg

The grocery section is about one third of the total selling floor area, with the remainder being general merchandise and pharmacy. Food selection similar to Kroger. They also usually have an outside garden center, but much smaller than those at Lowe's, HD, etc.

Meijer differs from Super Target and Wal-Mart by having a legitimate supermarket (no apologies, emphasis on local goods and produce...keep away when they have Michigan Apple Week) together with very respectable general merchandise (midway in quality/style between Target and WM). It's the meltingpot in the Midwest that WM is in rural areas...around Michigan and Ohio it's a "no apology" store...anyone of any income level shops there with no apologies. They manage to do this with the UFCW, to boot. They started as a supermarket in Grand Rapids in the 30s...their first hypermarket was in about 1960. Supposedly Sam Walton modeled Hypermart USA after them.

I like Meijer because they usually have what I’m looking for and cater more to local tastes than big national chains like wal mart and Target which tend to stock pretty much the same things nationwide and don’t bother carrying a large selection. I like Meijers appliance section for instance, 3x the selection you’d find at target or wal mart and carry some nicer items. All their stores do insanely well around here and therefore I hate going anywhere near them at peak hours.

Wegman's...
has excellent home-made cinnamon rolls and breakfast pastries, for those lucky enough to have one of their stores nearby. They've now expanded from NY down to the Richmond VA area. We love Weggie's french rolls and baguettes also.

I'd be skeptical, though, if these were anything but the successor to Merico refrigerated dough--they were the only private-labeler of refrigerated dough for a long time. Meijer may have specified a different formula (the champions for that is Loblaw in Canada--President's Choice), but I'd be surprised that the Meijer product was substantively different than you'd get at any of the first-class supermarkets with a reasonably well-developed private label program. I'm all for a taste-off, then
