Hi all. Does anyone know where I can find wiring diagrams for 1990+ Whirlpool washers? I'm looking for the wiring diagrams for model numbers LSR8200EQ0 and LLR9245BQ1, would like to see if retrofitting parts from one machine to another will work without having to do any rewiring. Service Matters used to be open to the public, but somewhere in 2007 some type of ultra backwards conservative thinking lead to Whirlpool requiring you to pay and register as a service tech to view what ought to be not only free but in every owners packet that comes with a machine.
Google images has some generics that are very similar to most Whirlpool models already in existence. If you have the machines in person the wiring diagram should be glued to the back of the control console or as a piece of paper folded up in the back of said console.
You can also try asking on an appliance repair site. They will often give you the PDFs is you tell them you've diagnosing these two machines for some obscure electrical problem.
I feel your frustration though. I've built a few franken machines in the past. Plus, before I use or buy any appliance I have to see the tech sheet first. No tech sheet no buy. If I don't see mathematical elegance whilst respecting traditional values it ain't happening either.

A buddy of mine had an old parts-picked washer kicking around and it looks like these parts are quite literally a direct swap, so planning to make one good washer out of the two to use at my shop. Hopefully this works out!

Yup! Tech sheets and wiring diagrams should all be public knowledge, its a human right as a consumer.

Small Problem
Ok, so the machine runs (and runs quite beautifully), with the exception of one small problem. When it goes from fast agitate to slow agitate during a cycle, it doesn't pause to change speed like my other machine does, but kind of "slams" into the slow agitate mode. Is there anything in particular that I should look at? Is this more than likely timer-related or something else? Don't want to let it keep going like this for fear of it destroying a transmission.

Here is a curve ball- Check model number HDA460-03 AD, see what you get.
Shifting from High to Low Without Stopping
Is Normal. I've had DDs that did the exact same thing. I even played with a belt drive that shifted speed without stopping just as the spin solenoid started to pull in. IMO it will not hurt the transmission.

Ok, that would be my indifference on my part. I updated my Email from 2013 to the one I currently use online. Let me know if it works. And I'm glad you reminded me. I tend to forget about anything that is not washer/dryer/HVAC related lol.
DD Timer Speed Changes
A 3-speed WP model I have with a separate speed control switch has a timer shift to low speed toward end of the Normal cycle wash period and ex-low on Casual/Perm Press. A momentary power break occurs at the moment of change but not a full motor stop. The change may be up or down or no change depending on what is the selection on the speed switch. See video first below at 10:05 for an example of no change on the Normal cycle (low before and after).
My 1991 KitchenAid 3-speed (no separate speed switch) with Stepped Spin does not pause the motor when changing speeds during the spin periods. Perm Press final spin runs 2 mins each of all three speeds increasing in succession. Also the 1994 model my parents had. KA models with Stepped Spin are the only direct-drives I've seen that run spin at the ex-slow speed. See the second video below (done years ago) for my KA changing spin speed (with a forced spin-drain) on Perm Press at 0:24 and 2:24.
The KA, interestingly, does pause when changing agitation speed, low motor to ex-low motor. See 3rd video below, 0:45.

I have an LSL9244EQ0 at home and it shifts like in the following video: (around the 13:38 mark from fast to slow agitate), so I guess I was used to that. The LSR8200EQ0 that I now have at work shifts from fast to slow agitate without disengaging like in the previous video and sounds exactly like this: (around the 10:20 mark). I guess I assumed they'd sound exactly the same seeing as they're similar machines, but it looks like you guys are correct! Short of needing to replace the agitator dogs in the next couple of days, the LSR at work runs really nicely and now has 4 water level options (vs. the factory 3) and 1 extra temperature setting (warm/warm vs. the factory cold/cold, warm/cold, hot/cold options only) all done with factory parts from a donor machine. I've used it twice already and it works great!
