What are the odds that ANY 1958/59 machines like the POD are still around? (I can find nothing on YouTube...) Is anyone else as intrigued as I am about the old WA Wizards?

The POD really caught my eye as that is a Brand I know very little about and had totally forgotten. My only experience with Wizard was that I remember several family members who lived in OH having Wizard window A/C units in their house. This was back in the 80s and the units were likely pretty old then. Never had heard of the brand before or seen another since. Where they there own brand or part of soneone else?

I think "The Pig" is a 1964 but it's pretty much the same as this little-piggy POD. Franklin, indexing tub. It's rare to see these, they were very prone to rust. Peter has pictures of one he found that made most of us gasp out loud.

I grew up in a town with a Gambles Hardware store, and these washers were sold there under the Coronado brand. Knew a few people who had them. They seemed a little crude compared to sleek-operating Maytags and Frigidaires. Quite noisy, and they made very unique sounds (hence "the pig"). I recall they had a button you'd push to start agitation if you wanted less than a full tub of water.

Lower-end Wards was also supplied by Westinghouse. RedCarpetDrew has a vid of a Westy Wards from the blue-bar era. For instance, MW 15s were Westies; MW Signature 20s were Norgealicious.

I remember the Citation, Nate; glad to hear it was the new Wizard, and not another unknown variable in the unwieldy piggy equation ;-> T'anks.
