The original Persil thread is getting slow to fully load, with pics and embedded video clips, so I opted to start a new thread.

There are SEVEN dosage markings in the cap, but as typical are VERY difficult to see.

Sorry, I should have rinsed the cap.

Three are tagged as 0, 1, and 2.

Five are tagged as A, B, C, D, E.

Yes, I use the Rinse button often.  However, it only works when there have been new posts since the thread was last viewed ... the thread must fully load if one wants to re-read earlier posts.

Not sure if it's browsers or not.

But I've logged into here, with AOL (Dialup) and, although images are slow to load, the website I've found is very speedy for the most part. I do have to applaud the admin, for making the pages, so streamlined, and well coded.

(Where I live, Cable Internet is very, very unreliable. There's so much downtime, everyone has a 2nd Connection (Dialup) as a backup)

Chrome or Firefox, is good.

I despise those caps, there is not one out there that is easy to read and use....

if its somewhat a clear cap, I will use a marker to put a stripe around it, or a piece of black electrical tape....

its bad enough for us who can see clearly, but what about anyone with visions problems, or like seniors...you practically need a bright spot light to figure out which line you need to use...

it was so much simpler when you had to use a full cap for a load, or a half cap for a half load...that's why I like the scoop that comes with the SearsUltraPlus, one full scoop for regular loads, or two if more is needed....quick scoop and dump, I am done....and don't have to worry about overdosing...

they should be making it more easier, not complicated.....sometimes it makes the PODS worthwhile to use.....quick measurements...

KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid...

I never use the caps that come on those kind of bottles to measure detergent. I keep the clear cover that comes with the 96 or 110 load Procter and gamble bottles and use that to measure any detergent I use. The lines and numbers on that clear cover that goes over the spout on the p&g big bottle detergent almost always match the lines and numbers on the caps that come on the hard to read covers. I usually experiment with water to make sure. The clear covers are simple to read and measure.

Beyond Measuring Caps..

Does anyone here, measure out, in Table Spoons a lesser amount of detergent than recommended?

I know Laundress has talked about it, but, anyone else? :)

I don't measure out in tablespoons, I use that clear cover. I use less than recommended. I use till line one on a regular full size load all the time. I find that it is enough detergent and everything always comes out clean. I use less for smaller loads.

actually for powerful detergents like Tide liquid, 2 shot glasses is just the right dose for HE machines.....

once dosed, then I leave the glass in the dispenser drawer of the Frigidaire, the water flowing cleans it out, and ready for next time....

those clear caps fit the Neptunes dispenser area with no issues...as mentioned, it keeps them clean...

one shot glass works for softener as well.....just the right amount, and then fill to the top with water....and it usually will fit most softener bottles, under the normal cap...

I too wonder how many people even read the directions that state the number system for dosage....

or that the stated uses per bottle is for a 'medium' size loads.....yet, most machines are large to super capacity, and some newer FLers, are huge....granted it may call for a whole cap, half dosages of recommended amounts usually work best...

somehow I miss the days of using normal powders, and the ONE CUP dosage....

Yogitunes, you can actually find that kind of detergent in some Wal-Marts in nj. It's called Foca. Comes in a bag of powder and gets measured by the cup. As far as I know however, I don't think it's an HE detergent.

yeah, theres few out there....Purex and XTra are a few of them....

I miss that huge 25lb box of TIDE...

did anyone actually use a Pyrex measuring cup for laundry....Mom always had a certain mug she would use...

I use the bartenders measure when I measure out the detergent.
One finger for medium loads, two fingers for full loads. No problems with oversudsing or clean rinsing. And whatever comes out of the machine clean.

Scales?

Have you determined what the different scales on the cap mean?
0-2 TL Machine?
A-E FL Machine?
