Oh my! It looks like a pretty old Whirlpool to me!! The ad describes the 3 appliances as 1960 models, but methinks otherwise. The Frigidaire range and refrigerator look like mid-50s models to me, so I am thinking this Whirlpool top-loader is a late 50s model also. Anyone have a better idea of its real date (pictures are pretty bad unfortunately)
Naturally, I have emailed the seller about the possibility of selling off the dishwasher alone and am waiting, ever so impatiently.. LOL

I had that EXACT dishwasher, the FP-50,which debuted in 1959. This, and the built-in version of this were the ones that easily outcleaned every other dishwasher CU tested in 1959. They had a prerinse,THEN the 1st wash,a 2nd rinse, a main wash that was 16 minutes, vs. the usual 5 others had, 2 after rinses, then dry.A single wash arm with indented jets like the HydroSweep had, plus an excellent filter system really did it. When I used 12% phosphate Calgonite in that machine, the glasses and silverware SPARKLED like nothing before or since. Palmolive Crystal Clear was the worst at that time!

OHMYOHMYOHMYOHMY.....

Got an email back from the seller; they said they will sell the Whirlpool off separately!! Yippeee!!
The seller is out of town until next week, but that would be fine, 'cause hubby's in Milwaukee at a conference.
Stay tuned!!

The stove was tol that year, if the dw is an impeller, the one top rack is in wrong, the left one should be turned end for end, when loaded, glasses should slope away from center, as is, all slope to the left.

Tentatively....

Set to pick this up tomorrow night! I am giddy!! Hubby will be ticked, but well, he seems to get over it, but I may have to consider finding a new home for something else to make room... Stay tuned!!

Got it!!

Picked up the Whirlpool dishwasher tonight!! It's in pretty darn good shape, too!! I only got a real fast look before hustling it into the back of the Ford but I could see right away that the tub was great (no rust, stains, or chips) and the racks are near-mint. The pump sump and filter area looked bright and shiny - Oh, and it has the bakelite wash arm!! Got a good look at the underside where the hoses and pump live - everything seems solid and I saw no evidence of leaks...
I think the model number was FP-50-S and I am pretty sure I saw the name 'Supreme' on the control panel at the rear of the tub lid...
Needless to say, I will be doing complete testing and detailing this weekend once the machine gets down to Ogden; photos and hopefully a video to follow. Stay tuned!!
