Wow this is new to me , Go OSTER!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

yeahbut

I was able to look at one closely just last week.
The idea is good, the layout brilliant, but the build quality was godawful. Worse than the Durabrand blender next to it, so I fear it is a Mexican product.

Funny I just got back from Walmart and hour ago taking mom for groceries and there it was for $68 Cdn which is about $50 USD. Didn't have a food processor attachment I don't think.
Is 600 watts 3/4 hp?
My old Oster Cyclomatics have 1000 watts and most of the other Osters are 800 watts?

Blendtec

Where is that Oster blender made? My Blendtec blender has a 3 HP motor. It will take 5 cups of ice with NO liquids and turn it into powder in 3 seconds, but it's VERY loud. There is a TON of videos on you tube. The blender is made in Orum, Utah for $399.00, but I got mine on Ebay for $285.00 and free shipping......Bill in Az.....

Stay away from the newer Oster blenders-Made in Mexico JUNK!If you have an older one-much better-or buy an older Oser machine from a yard sale or swap shop.If you can still find them the Made In USA COMMERCIAL Oster machines are excellent!
And of course Blendtec machines--WILL IT BLEND!! are one of the best.Next is Vita-mix.It is intreging how blendtec machines turn ice into snow!!

aren't something

like 99% of all microwave ovens for the consumer market built by Galanz? Now that they have inverter technology, perhaps we should make that 100%?

Galanz, in and of themselves, is not a bad firm. It is just that one should pay very close attention to the price one is paying for a given oven - at Walmart, you can see the exact same oven from GE and Sharp, next to each other, with a price difference of nearly $100.

And I don't believe the nonsense for one minute that the production quality is higher for the one than for the other.

My time working with engineers overseeing the production lines at B/S/H (Bosch, Siemens, Neff, Miele, etc.) taught me that any such differences would be too expensive to be worth it.

When I compare our Radarange to even the least-worst stuff out there today, yikes.

Re: Blendtec

The Blendtec blender has a very strange blade. I bought or ordered the 96 oz container for my pumkin pies and they sent me another 64 oz container. I called them and told them they sent the wrong size, they said keep the wrong container and consider it a gift from Blendtec. How Sweet!!!! The 96 oz jar has a 4" long blade. I think Jeffrey Dahmer would have loved this thing. Like on the Salsa cycle, this blender knows when to stop before the salsa turns into baby food. Tom Dickson, the owner of Blendtec said it is the only blender that can think for itself. I emailed them and asked if they ever tried a glass jar. No way they said. It will shatter.....Bill in Az.....

Re: Blendtec

Hi, Lawrence. Yes the Blendtec can go in the DW, but my Bosch melts everything. Especially peanut butter jars, so I remove it 20 minutes after the detergent dispenser opens and rinse it by hand. Im going to make pancake syrup in it today. I usually make it in the SS Vita-mix. I think I will do it in the bathroom and shut the door for 7 minutes till its done. This machine is TOO DAMN loud!!!!!.....Bill in Az.....

That Oster Blender is horrendus... Was at crap-mart tonight and saw it.. $59 here in the valley...

Actually no blender looked decent there..

They did have a $13 6-cup Hamilton Beach Food Processor... Think it was marked down though

I WOULD NOT run any blender jar assembly or blade assembly thru the dishwasher-the dishwasher detergent can leach the lubricant out of the blade seal and bearings-wash them by hand-using the bartenders method.Fill the jar with hot water about half-then add a couple drops of dish detergent-run the mixture in the blender for several seconds and rinse out the jar-CLEAN.Then machine is its own "dishwasher"On Blendtecs-the first cycle makes a good jar wash cycle. So far most of my jars have lasted several years-for the 96 oz containers-does your machine have at least the 18A motor? If not the warrantee is invalidated if you use the 96 oz jar for smaller motors. The larger jar was meant for Blendtec machines with 18A and 20A motors. If you are making peanut butter-do not run the machine longer than a minute after the peanut butter is flowing and circulating in the jar-if you do you could overheat the jar and the motor-both Blendtec and Vita-Mix.I have made peanut butter in both that I have and it takes far less than 7 minutes. If you ran it that long-you could get a meltdown. So far I have not been impressed with the quality of consumer-household blenders these days.Pretty poor quality across the board now.Get Vita-Mix or Blendtec-esp if you blend often-you will not regret it!
The "Gull-Wing" blade is what makes Blendtec famous-if you want to see a weird looking blade-go to the Blendtec website and look at the picture of the blade for their "Milkshake" jars.I have a Blendtec "Titan" and it has a 5" long gullwing blade.Surprized they don't use the Titan for some of Blendtecs "Will I Blend"The machine has a 20A motor and a 20A NEMA 120V plug. The most powerful blender I have and used. Now the Titan REALLY makes peanut butter! You can make a larger batch at one time.It has a 96Oz jar.

Vita Mix vs Blendtec

One difference between these is the material the containers are made from. Vita-Mix containers are now BPA free, being constructed of Eastman Tritan copolyester. Blendtec containers are polycarbonate, and contain BPA. Both will pulverize anything.

Blendtecs and Vita-Mix can grind anything-but don't renact "Will It Blend" in Vita Mix to often. The jar coupler on the base has a plastic substrate to a metal liner. It will break eventually-fortunately replaceement only takes 10 min with a coupler kit from Vita-Mix.I have a couple kits in my kitchen drawer under my Vita-mixes.So if a motor coupler breaks-its easy to fix.blendtec motor couplers are permenent-and warranted for the life of the machine.I am not concerned about BPAs-since I do not heat items in the jars-nor do I store foods in them.If you don't use them for storage or heating-no worry. The newer jar material for VM is interestging though-and VM has come out with a new blender--The Vita-Mix XL-this beast has two jars--a 195 oz one and a 64 oz one. This machine is marketed to chefs and restaurants, caterers.Has a 15A Belt drive motor behind the jar.Would be an interesting machine-and its mixing propeller is HUGE-looks like you could move a ship with it.Lets see-"Will It blend" with this? How bout blending the roast for the Toothless cousin of Tom.
