Mid 80s whirlpool power, clean dishwasher
This may have been one of the very first power clean models. These were great dishwashers and this one looks to be in great shape. Somebody could get a lot of good hard use out of this dishwasher yet. Hope somebody saves it.

Thank you for the longing! Absolutely stunning. Minty condition.
How I wish this dishwashers was still made and in nearly every Kitchen. Minus the top rack, this is one of the best dishwashers ever made.

Mid 80s whirlpool power, clean dishwasher
This dishwasher design and the whirlpool dishwashers before it had one of the best designed top racks ever in standard tub dishwasher. It held things beautifully glasses did not clink into each other. Things were held at a nice angle. You never had water in the bottoms of glasses and glasses even in the far corners would get completely clean with this wash arm design, no matter how much you block the lower rack.

You're right about the glasses. I don't like the open tins, the sharp dips or the closeness of the tines. I prefer the Kenmore Ultra Wash version of the top rack. I know how much you like the in the door silver wear basket and while many, many people absolutely love it I prefer the in rack basket.
Th rest I love from the porcelain tub, plastic door linear, bottom rack, knob, latch, wash arms, two rinses, the module and bi-metal opening dispenser. How I yearn for these Power Cleans.

We had this in our first house we bought back in 1987, the house was probably about 5 years old at the time we bought it. It worked well as I recall and never had any issues. I can't even say it was all that noisy either as the den and kitchen were sort of open concept and I detest noise. FF a few years later and my mother got one of the Quiet Wash II iirc and that thing was so noisy you could hear it all over the house. The cutlery rack on the door was great.
I think this dishwasher was taken for granted more often than not. People used cheap detergent and pre-rinsed to much not being able to come to realization about what they truly had.
Many people dream about money, being famous, a grand lifestyle, ect. I dream about Power Cleans coming back into production and becoming the dominant dishwasher platform.
Powers Cleans were just to good for this world.
