The washer was built the 44th week and the dryer the 13th week of 1985. That dryer saw little use looking at the pristine condition of the drum and bulkhead.
The dryer is an M (1984) model-year.
The washer is a P (1985) model-year.
Both emerged from the respective factories in 1985 (dryer March, washer 10/28-11/1). Production changed mid-year from 1984 models to 1985 models.
When we were transferred to central Texas from Houston in early 1986, I had a coworker that had to report here in November. She ended up getting this washer and the matching companion dryer to replace her previous Maytag 806 and Hamilton gas dryer. This is the same family that built one of the first houses in The Woodlands 1973/1974. The dishwasher was a KDS15/16. It was replaced with a KDS19 before they moved here.
