HI to all who like wringer washers; I have a question for you.
I was looking at my ABC wringer last night and the Dexter too. The bottom of the ABC's tub has like little "bumps" all along the bottom. The Dexter's tub is fashioned so that the tub is corrigated in a couple of places. Do you think that the shape of the tub affects cleaning ability or was it just an advertising gimmic to buy their product? Thanks, Gary

wringer tubs

I looked in some old magazines and found references to the tub corrigations; " tub ribbing to give multi-flow water action", "inner tub corrigated for better washing action", " corrigated tub to give extra water currents" ect... but personally I have used smooth and corrigated wringer washer tubs and really don't see any differents so I vote for advertising gimmic

ribs on tub

I won't debate whether the ribs increased cleaning or not, because I don't have any experience. However, IMHO, it seems as though the ribs might have been placed there to simulate the action the clothes may have received if scrubbed on a washboard......not a too distant memory for many wringer washer owners.
