Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

wow people are stupid! first of all, it is a MAYTAG not a ge, don't people read the label? secondly it is NOT a newer dryer, it looks to be a mid 80s almost as old as i am, it always amazes me how people put their ads on craigslist.

Mr. "one hand clapping" here.

Here's a little bit of controversy, and I'm genuinely curious what others think. To me, when KitchenAid dishwashers added the lame third wash arm, under the upper rack, and then had to shift the large-plate pins from the middle(perfection, AFAIC)to the left side, they lost a lot of their "zen". Remember how everything on a Washpower Maytag was based on a perfect circle in a square? Even the safety switch and the power cord were positioned dead center on the backsplash. To me, every KitchenAid product up to the 17 series had that powerful simplicity and great geometric design. What followed was never as good. Even though they lacked cup racks and something big in the lower rack would block the upper rack, it just wasn't the same.

I love my KDS-18. I put a 19 series rack in it (to get the better upper wash-arm) and for the way I use a dishwasher, it's the best of all I've tried to date. In the last five years, I've had eight different dishwashers in my kitchen and I keep going back to the 18.

AMEN GREG!!! I'm the renegade, as everyone knows, I couldn't be single andf live with a 1-level wash wonder the way I load a dishwasher. It would be running too emptuy all the time otherwise!!

KDS-18

I love the KDS 18.

I have 3 Single Arm machines. I use them once in a while only for the memories of the sound of those machines from years ago. They clean well, but I always run them 1/2 full as I have to load it so nothing blocks the top rack. To me the Single Arm machines are truly Dishwashers. You just can't pack them with Pots and Pans like you can with a multi level wash system. I have 2 KDS 18s. Just in case one needs repairs.

Hey Stevet... where are you ?

What's the difference between the 19 and the 18 upper ra

The wash arm in the 19 is longer, allowing for better clean-ability in the far corners of the upper rack.

"And is it the 19's or the 18's that offer only NO-Heat dry?"

The 19 is the no-heat dry model. The 18 and 20 are.
