Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yet another hardly-used washer! And such a rare one, at that. The tub and activator are pristine.

Congrats, Robert, and thanks for the visuals. I'm sure we'll get some sudsy load pics too---or perhaps a bit of video, maybe even?

Robert

it looks like this washer has the orignal pot-metal water pump! Now that is really something. Does it appear to have ever had any service?

Congratulations...........L.P.

A low miles, one owner cream puff... <:

Great find Robert! Looks to be in MINT condition too!
Congrats!

Wow!! Amazing. I'm still tingling. Before I opened the thread, I kinda thought with the miention of the rotary laundry guide, it was a Laundromat washer. I actually prefer these types of models. Like I'd rather have the WI59 rather than a WCI59, I just prefer being able to make all the selections myself rather than push a key, button, or rotate a selector. I wonder if this was even used 5 times. Absolutely incredible!!!

Robert -

That machine is beautiful. I notice that the infamous cinderblock that newer Filter Flos use to balance the suspension is not used on this machine. Is there a balance weight under there anywhere? There is a round, black object I see in the picture that I don't recognize. Could that be the suspension counterweight? Just curious how they did it back then.

Congratulations Robert!

That is an awesome looking GE. I'll bet that will be fun to wash in. You certainly know how to score some fine machines, hope you'll enjoy it for years to come.

OMG! ( drooling)~

I love your '61 FF! Why is it that all the great finds seem to be in the Twin cities! I think I am living in the wrong town. =(

Enjoy Robert! =)

I suspect that this GE either lived in an extremely dry basement, or was in a main floor laundry for some time. Otherwise, that base would be rust city! Leslie I noticed that the pump was original as well - holly crap!

Quite the beauty Robert, glad you decided to bring this post 1960 washer home ;-)

Keep that filter flow'in,

Ben

I renember when they

delivered the TOL machine to Nancy Smith across the street and I have never seen one of those since! Two rows of toggles it had.
They took away her 1950 GE with the all white cast iron tub. It was spraying grease all over the clothes.

Seeing that tub out of the machine was how I learned how water got out of the tub in spin! Once I saw that I used to make GE tubs all the time with Dixie Cups and paper punches to punch out the spin holes! And the best were made with all white dixie cups!

Was the filter flo pan inside?
Yup it was right on the agitator, you can see it in the 3rd picture.

Off subject, but I`m wondering what the switch is for on your appliance trucks?
See http://www.escalera.com/

Does it appear to have ever had any service?
I really can't tell Leslie, but all the parts look original.

There is a round, black object I see in the picture that I don't recognize. Could that be the suspension counterweight?
Yup that is what that is.

do the toggle switches have more than one position
Mike, Water Level and Wash Temp have 3 positions, the others have 2.

What you will be getting rid of???
I'm not telling! ;)
