Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

....and the stuff I got in (the state of) Connecticut.

I am a sucker for stainless steel. Don't people realize one can douse greasy SS with oven clenaer (sodium hydroxide => "LYE") and the grease saponifies and melts right off?

Here is a BEFORE pic...

And "after".

These items have not yet been scrubbed. The grease, as promised fell right off.

ALll I have to do is scrub with cleanser and a steel-wool soap pad, wash, rinse and reattach handles and lid-knob to the 3qt/3L pot and voila.... like new!

How sunty is that (that's a *c* with a cedilla!)

LOL and at GadgetBoy's insistence, I am posting this:

Here is a little trinket I bought for my next excursion to Provincetown, Massachusetts.

No it is not a one-piece swimsuit; it's a purse with sequins!

You should have seen the look on the young(male) cashier's face when Toggles purchased this one(on my insistence...LOL)....

(ducks and runs)

Who IS she? Who WAS she? Who does she HOPE to be?

And some rainbow and pink fuzzy slippers and it'll be a time to remember!

.......and I'll be the belle of the ball (or is it the belle with the balls?).

:-)

FEH! I was prepared for anything. I'm sure I have been called far worse things by far better people than anything he could have possbly been thinking.

Snaps finger three times above head in a waving motion...
Honey, I'm more of a man than you can handle (adjusts crotch), and more of a woman (flips hair) than she'll ever be (points to most femme girl in room).

As the hooker said to the john, (tilts head wildly back and forth and points to watch) your time is up mutha- F. I"m through with you NEXT! LOL

He was fine. He lived!

Oh Steve, the purse is "you" for sure. I have that very same Sunbeam fry pan. It was a gift in the early 90's I believe. Really a good electric skillet.

You think SHE was a pack rat?

Well get this....
You should see the before (and after) pictures of the house I have under contract right now...I have taken over 70 pictures of this house, with all the clutter. A woman actually lived in this filth. Picture of living room below.
See that little silver gem in the middle of the room?
I didn't get it. The clutter has been cleaned out now.
It was the worst house I have ever seen during my home buying searches...
I hope it loads correctly and isn't too big. If so, apologies.

And if you REALLY want to puke....

Take a look at the 1977 kitchen, complete with Harvest Gold gas cooktop, and there is a HG double gas oven on the other side.

Oh my...

Did they real estate agents show the house in that manner??? That's just disgusting. I wouldn't have walked in the door. :-(

Who you callin' a *POOF*?

I love that. And Jesus is above the sink supervising.
That mess is just learned helplesness. It takes WORK to be that disorganized.

THROW IT OUT. It's like taking a good dump; you'll feel better.

I truly do not get the connection between excess "stuff" and the false sense that it brings emotional security. Too much stuff brings about guilt and hygiene and sanitation issues.

I had a barren great-aunt. I honestly thought she was trying to fill her empty womb with stuff. There was a path from the door to the bed to the toilet to the stove. She was definitely a "surface-abuser" ever opne space had to be filled,a nd pronto! We never could not get the aunt to stop putting flammable materials and liquids (i.e. acetone- better known as nail-polish remover) on an old gas stove with pilot lights.

Hi Heather, Hi Carol. So odd. I was thinking of you both and *POOF* there you are!

Those are the coolest slippers I've ever seen.

They look like LIVE Easter bunnies. Who wouldn't love to have them ;'D

And on a final note....

I haven't been around at all because I have been working my XXX off so I could buy a home. I have looked at over 50 properties since coming back from Omaha. This is the 3rd house I have had a contract on since January. I am getting a deal on it. An unbelieveable deal. TRUST ME....It WILL NOT look like this when I get done w/her. It's an awesome house with so much hidden potential. Closing is set for April 18th if all goes well with inspections, appraisal, etc.......

Heather:
YES! It went on the market 03/10 at about 2 pm. My REA & I were there at 5 pm. We wrote up an offer the next day. The listing agent told my friend before she showed it to me: *ahem*-- It doesn't show well...LMAO, THAT was the understatement of the year!!!!!. When she walked in first, she said: Carol...OMG....don't look at the S&iT all over the place....get a vision. Well I did get my "vision" and this house had EVERYTHING I wanted. It's a 3/2/2 all brick w/patio. Good bones.
I knew right then it was "the one". I wanted something that needed work. Well I got my work cut out for me. LOL

Steve: I haven't forgotten about you guys either. Just been soooo busy. (Except for today, boss is gone and I'm goofing off) Been too busy lately, and will be even more so when I start working on the house and (hopefully) move in by the end of April. There is alot to do....at least they got the trash out, the rest is paint, tile, hardwoods & "sweat equity".
And alot of bleach, (not for mold, for disinfecting the place)

YAY! Kiss my (_Y_) goodbye: Hitler, trailer parks, and Pasadena,TX!

Take care everyone. Stay well and safe!

Carol

There is a HG double gas oven on the other side.
Luckily the HG shows up as tan on my monitor! LOL

R U sure it's not the oven above behind door #1 and the broiler below, behind door #2? which is the usual configuration with older gas non-pyrolytic (non self-cleaning) wall ovens. Actually I don't think I have ever seen a double gas self-cleaner for the wall.

A true gas double wall-oven (with 2 ovens that both bake and broil) would be quite rare and a collectors' item. IIRC they were badged Modern Maid /Caloric / Tappan.

Welcome fellow HOMO-wner to the fold! LOL

HA!

All that clutter, and to think at some point she paid $$$$ for that Fairfax vacuum. Wonder where she thought she could use it. Anyway, congratulations on your purchase Carol!!

~Actually I don't think I have ever seen a double gas self-cleaner for the wall.

OOOPSE no; the true double gas models WERE self-cleaning. This is possible because the oven and the boiler were in the same cavity.

Single gas wall-ovens had the broiler migrate to the oven cavity. The lower compartment then became a storage drawer.

I remember seeing a double oven gas self cleaning Modern Maid or Amana at the local Best Buy for literally years...it was about 5 yrs ago during one of their periodic flirtations with built-in appliances. Couldn't tell if it was a returned special order or what, but it sat on that floor for a long time...reduced in price $50 every 4 months or so...finally sold for $600 or so...it was a $1500 unit at the time.
