Ah, the Custom

This was the dishwasher we replaced our GE pink pull-out with in 1973. Absolutely fantastic machine; quick, quiet(for the time), did a splendid job cleaning and I loved how the machine would activate with just a touch of one of the cycle buttons. You didn't touch the dial unless you wanted to cancel. I'll never forget the day my father and I installed it. It had one of those "Steel" industry stickers on the inner door and a professional Hobart packet of literature. My parents never bought another GE dishwasher after having this one.

I like it!

Im only a couple hours away from that...I may have to bid on it! Something about it says "come and get me"

Relatives of mine had that as an under counter model in gold. They bought it in 1974, and had it up until this past October, when they moved from their house.

Have a good one,
James

Be careful what you wish for!

Definitely a great machine.. but looks to be a 16 or 17 Custom series which was BOL for Kitchenaid And yet it still would outclean machines today!
Single Hydrosweep arm, no upper washarm so you have to load it carefully to get the upper racked ware clean and no supplemental heater in the sump. Best to run it with a good supply of at least 140 degree or higher water to it.
