You tube dishwasher video

Question for anyone: There is a video of this guy (rather cute too) getting into a dishwasher for fun while his buddies turn it on. I am very stumped as to the brand of this dishwasher. It looks like a late 70's or early 80's machine. I suspect that this young man is from Canada and perhaps this is a Canadian machine?

The machine is a 70s Westinghouse design. What brand it is, I do not know. Actually the design started about 1965 and steadily got cheaper. Consumer Reports top rated it along with the 15 series KitchenAid. At first, it had a big rectangular filter like the 12 series KitchenAids. Tom

It appears to look like an Eatons Brand "Viking". You may noticed the door had an anti tip mechism built in it. The door will drop to the floor (yes it was the older Westinghouse Design - CRAP!)...leaks and poor washing...

So the tilting of the door was normal? I had been under the impression that the young man had broken it since he put all of his weight on it. If one did that with a KitchenAid machine and the door bent down like that, it would have to have the door mechanism replaced.

The tilting for the old Westinghouse dishwasher was unique and probably the only thing they should be proud of on their dishwashers. (sorry to insult any D/W Westy fans, you will have to forgive me, they were a nightmare to repair). Pumps on these d/w were prone to leaking, the drain valve operation was backwards compared to other brands (Westy D/W drain valve was activated during the wash - when the current stop to the drain valve, the pump would then divert to the drain). The GE style was far better!!

Again the door was neat! Many homeowners would open the door and let it drop....never banged. I think the door will tilt / drop to the floor if the load was more then 50lbs.
