Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Louis, that window is so cool. Talk about after dinner fun. How strong is the spray on it?

Chris, you did such a job on that one. All you need is the box...

Louis - very cool dishwasher. I wish we could see a close up of those arms in the bottom. Is this your machine?

Chris - That Westinghouse dishwasher looks museum quality now. Does it wash as good as it looks? Is that the timer down by the name on the lower front door?

Maytag RR

My vote goes to the Maytag Reverse Rack machines that were made from 1970 until the late 80s. After they went to the reversing pump belt drive design in about 1974 they were basically the same machine all the way until the end of production (early models had a direct drive recirculating pump with a separate drain pump). They had phenomenal loading capacity and cleaned very well. The down side was that they were noisy when they were washing and they sounded like a freight train while draining! But then again, the 5 fills, wash/rinses and drains of the regular cycle only lasted about 35 minutes.

My favorite model simply because it was the dishwasher of my childhood was the WU601.

I have one of those awaiting a full refurbishment in my basement....

Favorite of all time, still hunting for one........mid 50's 24" Hotpoint with the Roll R Rack upper rack and the lighted indicator on the lower left side. My late Aunt had a white one in her house when she moved in during 1973, and I just loved how the lower rack set the plates in a circular pattern, and how you could flip the upper rack to load different sized items.

Louis, that is cool.

I agree, Chris, that machine looks "skweeky" clean.  An owner's manual would be the cherry on the sundae.
