As most of your know, I’ve posted several videos in the past month regarding speed queen, and others. I really enjoy doing the videos, Its definitely renewed my interest at work again.

I decided that in order to keep my interest, I would monetize my videos. I’ve already spent several hundred on a camera and appropriate lighting. Not to mention the cost of the appliances, and the fact that the test models will be sold at a discount due to them not being new.

I’ll try and keep it tasteful. Promise.

My questions to all of you:

Any criticism about the videos? Lighting ok, sound? Any information I should talk about?

Finally, I need 1000 subscribers before they will even consider reviewing my account. If you haven’t subscribed already, I would certainly appreciate it. I definitely value your feedback!

Guess I'm glad to have enough subscribers already...

As for your channel: no complaints. Lighs are bright, picture is crisp (and in focus) and you even speed through "boring" parts like the fill cycle. 👍🏻

I subscribed when you uploaded the KitchenAid video. :)

I've made a decent amount of money on mine but YouTube just changed their monetization standards effective 2/20/18. You now have to have at least 1K subscribers and 4.000 hours of watchtime in the previous 12 months. So now my channel doesn't qualify for adsense earnings any longer. It's a bummer. I was only making about $40-50 a month but still! I'll keep making videos in hopes that I can get up to 1000 subs. I'm at 317 now. LOL

Aww thank you Eugene! I love your videos. Yes YouTube has pissed a lot of people off, I was reading the comments on the email they sent. Yikes.

I am uploading a video of inside my 1985 Hobart KA KDM-21 as I type this. I spent a good deal of money on a GoPro so I can make better videos. It's pretty cool, should post in a couple hours!

Thank you again for subscribing :-)

I agree...they said it's weed out the "bad people". I think what they mean is the people who film crazy stuff just to get views or steal other people's videos, etc. They can earn money just by doing that. I think they should just look at those people and take away their adsense privileges. You can tell by looking at someone's channel if they are serious or not. I've been posting videos since 2009. Started with all car videos, then to washers. I'll be posting more car videos this spring too.

But YouTube was filled by individuals making Videos mostly for fun. I only have 73 subscribers but one video has had 39,000 views. I have not added commercials. Good luck to you guys trying to make money there. The big guys including Google itself get most of the cash.

I just dug into the matter further, apparently I've had 10,883 viewing hours over the last year. I have 1,634 subscribers. I guess I'm safe from the latest purge. I'm kinda surprised but relieved.

Apparently this video is my biggest revenue producer and most viewed. Guess I should make more thermostat videos? Other ones I've made were surprisingly popular too. I'm dumbfounded cuz I thought those would be considered the most boring.

That's awesome Jonathan! Yeah it's amazing at what people look up on there LOL. I lost some subscribers once I started doing washer videos. Like I said before I started doing car videos...my 2009 Ford Focus, then I got some Oldsmobiles from the 80's and did a lot of videos on those. It's hard to keep a constant audience if you post all kinds of stuff so I think that's why my subscribers have been smaller.

My most popular videos have been appliance and other home mechanical things. Not the plumbing fixtures or cars. I've thought about creating another channel for some time to keep things separate but now with this latest development I'm not going to. I think I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing as the channel has never been there to entertain anyone but to post videos regarding my interests that all fall within the mechanical category.

I think you should consider purchasing a lapel microphone instead of using the microphone on your camera. It would make your videos sound a lot better.

That's not a bad idea, I've always never liked the way I sounded especially on camera and that may help a bit for videos where I have to talk. I've just been using my iP6 the last few years for YT. I had a Nikon S8200 but the battery went kaput cuz I used it so little, never liked the low audio volume on that anyway.
