The Appliance of Science...!!!

Nice work Darren & Jon, another modern classic to the fold, is this still using the big induction motor??, when it finishes spinning does the cold water come in as the drum is slowing down or does it wait until the drum has stopped before commencing the next fill??

Is that a timeline on the fascia as well?? dog, have I missed something????cheers, Mike

Hi Darren

Congratulations! Of course you have told me all about it on the phone. Now I can see it properly I can see it's the same as my friend's (he had the washer dryer version).

I remember when these came out in the early 90s. I remember being quite sad the old Zanussi's were going but fascinated none the less.

I hope it all works out well.

Rob

Hi Darren!

Congrats on the new addition to your Zanussi family!

What a fine specimin she is!

The only experience I have had with a zanussi is my grans old Zanussi washer dryer from 1987.

Yours is going to clean up a treat!

Hope you have loads of fun and loads of washdays with her.

Hey guys,
Thank you for your kind comments! I'm very pleased, its now sat in the shed its a tin one but its nice and dry as opposed to 18months of being outside. with enough room for me to get in their with a good view, only downside is my plumbing arrangement, i have to run the hosepipe to it, and fill it until the inlets stop buzzing, and i'm either going to have to get metres and metres of extension inlet & waste pipes all joined together like i used too lol or use a bucket. Ahh this reminds me of when i got my logic and it lived in the shed!

Mike-Yes dog! he is called kilo, he's a puppy rottweiler, well a year old now!

It sounds like the zanussi has a brushe motor. which according to the brochure i have with it in "it takes 8 zanussi machines to produce the same noise as a rival model! (hotpoint anyone?":P).

Rob- Nice to catch up with you on the fone! Its nice to have the older traditional model and the newer jetsystem both in my possession!

Mark- I'm amazed you've only encountered one zanussi! How can this be? :p

Their wonderful machines, they have a special place in my heart, i just love their no nonsense, get the job done style. You can't beat the charm of the old zanussi's so this is why new zanussi struggles to match up i think. though i love em! lol. The new ones, dont use enough water!!!!!!!! well on cottons anyway lol.

I'm going to just go take a picture of the zanussi in its new home and it will be posted shortly:D

Awesome machine Darren!!

You have exactly the same shed as us LOL!

#I cant wait for some footage of it in action :-D

I too miss the motor noise now ive got the induction motor. But I'm kinda hoping I wont have my hotty too much longer as its doing my head in every wash load now LOL

Enjoy your fab new machine

Ab Fab

Eddy and saffy had one also in the series ABFAB in the first series in 1992/1993

They always had zanussi washing machines right up till 1996 in their basement kitchen

Hey guys!
Well mr euronics here finally has a dry day off with all this bad weather we've had and me startin a new job, i've just gotten down to using the zanussi for the 1st time with a proper washload! My gosh its fun:D Im my warmer than my parents garage, tin shed lol. So how am i using it? Well with a long extension cable, a long hose and a bucket i manage to do a full cycle:)

So i did colours on the worn once programme! it doesnt mess around! i missed the wash part it was so quick!

I used ariel colour and lenor

it fills to high level, tumbles 2 or 3 times and then the jet comes on.

3 rinses no spins,

final spin big water cascading down the door burst then a long steady spin which im still tryin to work out what speed it is.

im going to do a humongous darks load on mixed fabrics in a mo so will let ya no how that goes.

Heres some pics the 1st one is one of the wash!

be sure to check my youtube account throughout the day while i upload them for your viewing pleasure:D

Yey Darren!

Its great your using it and making the effort with the extension, bucket etc. Not sure if I would go to that effort so good for you! (In our old house the machines in the garage never got used unless I dragged them into the house as there was no plumbing outside).

Great pics! I havn't seen the vids yet but im sure ill be impressed!

P.s About me only having experience of 1 zanussi. My gran was the only person with a zanussi. It lasted 15 years I think.Even then it probably wasn't broken.I went round one day and there was a Hotpoint in its place.I have no idea why it was replaced. Amazingly no one else I knew had a zanussi. To this day I still don't know anyone with a zanussi. What r the odds?...strange.

Hey mark,
Ahh yes, i havent made that much effort since my hoover logic lived in the shed and i bought a fair few metre of extension inlets and outlets luckily power was in the shed! With a light! lol.

I've had a great afternoon using it! i've just done my darks and now i really have to get on with my jobs around the house else im going to be in trouble lol!!!!

i really am shocked u've never come across zanussis! they were allover the place here when i was a kid!

many friends had grey panel zanussis one friend had an almond nexus which i bloomin loved which one day i went wrong and a wma hotpoint in oyster was in its place! shock horror!

shes settling in well, i think its starting to remember how to work after being stood for 18months. with not a problem with it! washed, heated, rinsed and span really well!

Hope you all enjoy!

Darren
