Zanussi XC WJS1665W
Hi all
Here's my XC WJS1665W 1600 spin washer/dryer, purchased new May 2001. You can also see my AEG slimline dishwasher of the same age (which worked perfectly until 3 weeks ago).
Unfortunately the WJS1665W died in 2005, the control panel was always flaky from just out of warranty, and the Start button sometimes took several presses to work. Other than that it was a brilliant machine, with JetSystem, and the Zanussi spin-rinses. Rinsing was excellent ('total exchange'), even though it used very little water.
Over time, the start button became more and more temperamental, and the machine would sometimes just stop mid-cycle for no reason (no error code).
The bearings started to wear, so it was replaced with a Bosch that lasted only just over 2 years but that's another story.
AEG Electrolux L14850 washer/dryer currently. Very quiet, but very odd programming - eg short bursts of spinning on the synthetics cycle between rinses, but the pump cuts out almost as soon as it's started spinning so no water is extracted. Also on some programs (cottons included), hardly any intermediate spins between rinses. Rinsing is therefore appalling, particularly on the synthetics cycles. Not one of my best buys although I think the newer (current) range of AEGs is better.
It has the JetSystem similar to the Zanussi, but no spin-rinses.
I remember my aunt having a Z949T (semi-integrated Z939T) from about 1981, which was still working perfectly with its original induction motor when she had a new kitchen fitted in 2008, which included a "free" Zanussi washing machine. I wish now I'd rescued it from the skip as I'm sure someone on here would have liked it!
