SpeedQueen FF7 service manual ?

Hello people,

I own a Speedqueen FF7. Great machine but the water lever is WAY too low. I tried to wash a comforter and it was dry in the middle.
I’m looking for a manual mostly to figure out how to remove the top lid so I can access the pressure switch.

Any ideas ?

Adjusting water level on a Speed Queen front load washer

There are little dip switches on the control board that allow you to adjust the water level, you'll need the manual to tell you which switches to adjust.

I got my new Speed Queen front load washer like this in the stainless steel version a little over three years ago at first I thought I wanted to turn the water level up a bit, but I've never had a problem with it getting everything wet doing a great job so I never bothered.

If you can't find the information, I'll try to find it. Let me know.

In this video, Ben shows you how to in tease the water level (switch 3) to an additional 0-2”, and also how to remove the pesky water saving features implemented by the government (switch 2) so it washes with a standard amount of water. But if you don’t want to do any of that, don’t use the Normal wash cycle as it doesn’t use nearly enough water and no hot water, despite what you may select on the temp settings. Good luck.

OK, that was super incredibly fascinating. And have no intention of opening up my FF7 as tempting as it is. Seems really complicated with great potential to break something - including me :-( But I'd sure be interested in seeing how far up the glass the water level can get....

I have both the service and parts manuals for stack sets, which should include whatever you need for your non-stacked unit. I believe I got them from SQ's website for free, if you can't find it, I'll be happy to share if you email me.

Just repeating what should be common knowledge among us washer fanatics, if you are using te Normal/Eco cycle, you'll have poor results due to significantly reduced amounts of water. Alwayss use the Heavy Duty or Whites cycle for most laundry. and adjust wash tempterature as desired.

WOOHOO! it worked. Been wanting more water since I got it. With help from someone here, I changed the 2nd and 3rd dip switch which made it add another fill a few minutes into the cycle which helped, wasn't aware it needed a program change. Now it fills a little more than what I would add manually which would be between 3-5 gallons of water. It is higher now than what it would allow me to do before; draining due to an overfill code. Now to adjust the commercial Huebsch one at school (unless it requires taking the dryer off. )
Should the board ever fail, would an FF7 board and keypad work on an earlier model?? Mine I think is 8-10 years old. Running a cycle so will edit with model later.

The first pic, the water is up to the first ridge the drum. It is not up to the window as it looks as the boot is still draining.

I’m happy everything worked out for you. I’m just curious, did you add any more inches of water (dip switch 3 and programming on front panel, in 0.5” increments up to 2 inches? Wash looks great. Congrats!

Ben in the video shows a picture of SW1 where he mislabels the switches. Switch #1 starts on the right with Switch #8 on the left. Ben labels the left most switch as #1 and the right most switch #8.

Yes, i set it to 20. It was at 5 when i got into the program mode.

I wish these washers had an analog pressure switch with a screw like the Frigidaires of the early 2000s. Much easier to adjust.

Interesting. And where your changes based on Ben’s video with the switches on the left (2 and 3) or did you go based on WhiteWhiskers’ discovery that they are from right to left?
