2004 Yes, they were available in 2004. I have a 2004 Argos Catalogue that show's the 1400 spin version of this model, as well as the respected driers and the first Hotpoint WFF/WT series.

Persil I use Persil Colour Care powder and I can say that I haven't been noticing much fading except the occasional new item, but nothing major. I've been using it for well over a year and a half as a daily detergent, and I can say that I use it on 80% of my washing and I find it works a treat...

Ecover I'm a fan of Ecover too. I've got two bottles of their non bio liquid, a bottle of the bio gel, a 40 wash box of non bio powder, and some softeners, we all love Amongst the Flowers in our house! We have tried on and off their other cleaning products, including the dishwasher tablets...
