    Norge wringer washer date?

Today I bought a Norge model WWPG-22, serial number 947460. Is it possible to tell the year from this?

    GE date code?

This one has a rubber cord, the same shade of green as the reinforced section shown in the photo. I wouldn't place a bet as to whether it had been changed but it would seem odd they would go the extra length to match the color of the cord to the appliance. So post '73 it is! Good info to know.

    GE date code?

I have a GE steam iron in avocado green, catalog # H8F95AVT. It is stamped "907", which I would intuitively translate to the 7th week of 1969. This fits the appearance, not only by the avocado green but the font and overall design. Is there a serial number database or "rules of interpretation"...

    Eureka floor scrubber brushes needed!

I wondered about that. I also thought about soaking the brushes overnight (in conjunction with swapping them) and hopefully getting most of the old residual cleaner out of the bristles. Maybe that will help erase their "memory".

    Eureka floor scrubber brushes needed!

I have a baby blue Eureka floor scrubber, model 24A. I bought it at a yard sale about 10 years ago for $3.00. I used it for a couple years but then when I moved to a new house it sat down cellar for about 4 years. I've recently decided to press it back into service and noted the brushes are...

Thrift shop score - Osterizer blender 442

The Sunbeam is that old? Cool! I figured 60s sometime. It's a daily driver, got it hooked up to a timer. Makes great coffee. Here's a closeup of the Oster switch:

Thrift shop score - Osterizer blender 442

Maybe narrowed it down I searched ebay ads and found examples from 1950, 53, 54 and 60. The earlier ones had a simple toggle switch and the newer ones had a different style rotary switch. They also were "Deluxe" models, "Super Deluxe" like mine so the emblem by the switch is different...

Thrift shop score - Osterizer blender 442

Three bucks. It cleaned up nicely. The motor works but I haven't put anything in it yet to see if it leaks. Weighs a ton. Does anyone know how to date it from the serial number?

    Craiglook.com Killed By Craiglist.com

I loved Craiglook I used craiglook often while it was 'alive'. I have about 50 guitars and various other stringed instruments here (I build them too). In the past year I went on a freakish buying spree for Ovation guitars (the odd roundback guitars like Glen Campbell used, for those not...

Vintage hand held electric mixers...like 'em?

Pink Jane Jetson GE Picked this up at a thrift shop for a buck. It works but will need a massive cleaning and the switch is muddy. like it got cake mix spilled in it in 1960. Any idea of the year? (I'm guessing 1960!)

Old Kay maybe Yours looks like an old Kay C-1. I wish you wouldn't refinish it but that's your decision. Here's my 1940 Kay M-1: http://www.angelfire.com/me4/ksdaddy/m1.html

    Your oldest home appliance

Daily Driver I've got old stuff here but some of it is just used for my own entertainment (the Apex wringer for example) or occasionally due to circumstance or need (the c. 1952 Sunbeam deep fryer). One daily driver however is the c. 1955 GE Spacemaker oven. An old lady sold her house with all...

    Early 50s Philco refrigerator

Lotsa models In searching ebay ads and whatever I could find on Google, it's apparent to me they changed specs about every week. They definitely weren't like Electrolux canister vacuums, that's for sure. One observation I made was that prior to '52 they seldom had any storage in the doors...
