Is this a 2 speed Kenmore?

Customer complaints on single speed machines I hadn't heard that there were customer complaints on the 1-speed models, but it makes sense. I could do without a delicate speed on a belt-drive washer, but I used the slow speed wash feature on my DD more than I used the regular. Having fast...

    Sears Kenmore catalogs...

Sales reps knowing the line up, & catalogs I spoke to some sales reps that didn't know as much as could be learned from the circulars and signs on the sales floor. They seemed to know the mid-line models best (the "bread and butter" models) and basically what was on sale that week, and the...

Is this a 2 speed Kenmore?

Glenn is exactly correct With Kenmore you never know sometimes, but my hunch is this second pictured machine is a two speed because of the presence of both a Heavy Duty cycle and a Normal cycle. The HD would run at full speed in agitate and spin, whereas the Normal would agitate in low speed...

1978 Lady Kenmore Washer and Dryer in Cambridge, MN

These are 1978 models In Avocado. Could they be Delaney's that he wants to re-sell?

POD 2/3/17 TOL Whirlpool Suds-Miser: ATT'N Polkanut, Arkonman, & Suds Lovers

I agree with Bob Was just about to post that the four minute drain may be monotonous for us washer watchers to endure and seem a nutty wasteful of time, but it does indeed do wonders to diminish suds before spin. When using my 1967 24-inch straight vane machine, it occasionally suds locks...

if you could travel back in time to buy your dream vintage washer dryer set what would it be

Good question!! I think it would be fun to go back to 1972, mid-year at a Sears store. They still had the super-tall centerpost 18lb washers with the whopper Roto-Swirl, which I have never seen "in the wild" as they say. There was such a variety of models regular capacity models that year...

    Kenmore washer model 110.92273800

Hold on a second... The machine in the first couple pics is almond in color, and is model number 110.92273800, correct? And your machine is model 110.92273100 in white, right? Those two model numbers are the exact same 1992 model 70 series machine, only the color is different. The 8 in the...

    Whirlpool belt drive belts

There are only three belts... 1) One for the portables that use the multi-groove belt (these are the later ones with the fast spin). 2) A narrow v-belt for the quiet-pak construction models, I believe it is a 1/4" belt. 3) The most common notched v-belt, which is the 3/8" belt mentioned above.

    Dual Action On The Prairie

Quiet pak... Unfortunately the washer does not have the quiet pak belt. The last primary model issued to use that belt for Kenmore was a 1979 Kenmore 80-series 24-inch model. It wasn't a widely made model, though production numbers are relative for KM vs others. The last mainstream quiet...

    Bold Detergent Ads

Still being sold? Is P&G still selling Bold today? Last place I know to sell it was Lowe's. It was in limited distribution according to P&G a few years ago. They had it even after the 2011 recreation of "ultra" powder. Haven't noticed it there in a few years. Gordon

Early '70s Kenmore Washer $25 (Sacramento Area)

'72 Kenmore 700 This is a 1972 Kenmore 700. The 1972 KM line was vast with models, starting with a 200 series entry single speed model, to the final standard capacity Lady Kenmore 900, and probably a dozen models in between. The KM "plastic panel" debuted this year on at least three machines...

new thread, same machine, 1959 Whirlpool washer won't spin

Hmmm... Mark - If you can't reach in and spin the basket by hand, not even a little, then something is wrong in the centerpost & basket drive areas. You'll need to remove the agitator, the tub ring, the agitator drive block, and the basket locknut to remove the inner wash basket. Then...

    Ok Guys..I need a favor..RESCUE SOME STUFF!!!

Hey guys, I'm willing to help! I certainly don't need any more machines, but would be glad to help with the labor and maybe my truck and appliance dolly. I have a Ranger too, and same as Rich, 2-3 pieces max (I am most comfortable with 2 so I can keep the tailgate up). Tyler - if you want...

57 Frogeye Kenmore washer, and matches set 59 Wirlpool Imperial

Need to modify my response from last night... Mark - I must have been tired when I was trying to describe the basket drive yoke support in my response above. The yoke itself does not need to be lubricated, but the support it sits on does, as does the cam bar spring (both sides) that looks...

57 Frogeye Kenmore washer, and matches set 59 Wirlpool Imperial

Non oem belts for WP belt-drives Malcolm, I haven't seen a lot of non-oem belts for BDs, but I know that they are out there. I have seen a couple ERP95405 on ebay, which is a common after-market parts company. I would imagine that Supco makes or made one, and possibly RobertShaw and a few...

57 Frogeye Kenmore washer, and matches set 59 Wirlpool Imperial

Spin issues... Mark, Such cool machines! It was fun to look at this thread again. I think you will be surprised how much a new belt will do. The most drag on the belt in the cycle operation is spin start. A sign of an aging or loose belt is a squeal at the switch to neutral drain from...

    Whirlpool Imperial Tub Removal

Eugene and John Continuing the temporary hijack... The machine in my profile pic is a 1961 Kenmore Seventy series. This is one of two primary 70 series models that year as the other had the same physical console but different controls with push-in buttons similar to a 1963 Lady K that stop...

Kenmore belt drive clunking/banging and not spinning/draining properly?

I agree with Malcolm... This does sound like a slow drain problem. These machines won't spin when the water level pressure switch is still satisfied. It sounds like water is partially draining enough to un-trip the switch, then the machine completes the spin circuit and starts to spin...

Converting BD KM self clean to bed of nails filter

Lots to say... The comments made about adding the "string catcher" lint filter and the three port pump are essentially correct. That filter, which was molded into the tub ring housing, is usually powered via a three port pump, unless the machine is a suds saver, which required the old four...

    Whirlpool Imperial Tub Removal

Stephen, You don't need to disassemble any mechanicals under the baseplate to remove the tub. You will want to disconnect the hoses coming from the filter port however which in your picture is at the 1-o'clock position. Due to limited space, they are usually easiest to disconnect at the pump...
