The DD Kenmore I was given always has this happen, with hard water and lots of use it is bound to happen.

It looks as if some "Washer Magic" cleaner may take some of that off. Has for staining things you wash, I would take the inner tub out and see just how rusty it is. I would also say this washer might have been in a damp basement for some of its life or was used with hard water. -Andrew

My mother has a ge with auto load setting or mannuall selection. If she uses the knits setting with auto load the washer fills pass the normal highest wash level. That would get alot of rollover on the normal wash. -Andrew

I would throw in for GE top loader with agi, great wash action, saves water, never has any issues with sensing the load. All it does is a slow spin when filling and moves to wash when its filled to a reasonable amount. Just a word of warning they dont build them like they use too. -Andrew

Also I have a timer on DD lock up before, that was a pain. The only thing I hate is the fact that electronics have been known to have issues with steam. You would think someone would have pointed this out to the big wigs. -andrew

The folks had a lower end 2 speed with black tub from 88/89, that was a great washer took abuse and never quit. Still have the dryer, washer rusted out in 02.

My new to me Kenmore washer from 02 will spin drain on the first wash but, will spin like mad even on a full load.
