I saw the Culligan ad also. But I live a 100 miles where this special would happen. In my area they would honor the $19 for three months, but mileage and installation would be extra.

Would you by chance know how much salt softeners go for? It would at least be triple here(mileage and everything). Culligan is the only company that will come out here. They are running a special for $19 a month for three months(installation and mileage not included).

I put stuff like that in a net bag before it goes in the washer. I also have a thing called a bra buddy that I have used so much that it is being held together with safety pins(Walmart stopped selling them). I bought the net(lingerie bag) at Dollar Tree 3/$1 but are poor quality. No problems...

Where I live: bleach or no bleach won't be the problem. I think hard water will be the death of my machine. We don't drink the water out of the tap here.

used LCB I finally got my owners manual out from under the washer leg, and replaced it with cardboard. The owner manual said to use beach, so I did, and it worked.
