    Digging up some treasures

I'm not sure when they went away. I'm having a lot of trouble finding anything about them. I managed to find some trademark documents for ZIF. Filed 1977, first use in 1966. The B-70 document I found was registered 1973, first use in 1970. I also have a car wash liquid, lemon wood polish, floor...

    Digging up some treasures

Now, a little more on-topic for this forum, the B-70 laundry compound. This stuff is PACKED into the box hard. It's in a plastic bag, which is good since the box is now falling apart, and even when new the powder is rock hard packed in. You have to dig it out with something sturdy. I was quite...

    Digging up some treasures

We apparently have some old stock (some NOS) of various Bestline cleaning supplies. Does anybody remember them? I don't expect too many since they were commercial, not consumer products. They had environmentally friendly, concentrated formulas. This was in the 70s and 80s, waaaaaay before...

How do you remove Maytag A207 lid?

Thanks for the tips! Worked great. What I did was open the lid a little, put a cloth over one ball (the right-side, since that's where I was pulling), pulled the right-side of the lid until it popped out. The balls safely drop into the washer rather than flying about. Putting it back was...

How do you remove Maytag A207 lid?

How do you remove the lid?? It has the two balls holding the cover on, which seem to fit tightly. I'm trying to clean in behind the lid and around the lid switch, which is difficult with the lid in place.

@roscoe62 If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your Persil from?

Just cleaning up a Lady Kenmore.. some pics

Finally, the right label. The right-side outlet is marked AUTO. The outlet itself is cracked, but doesn't pose a problem (yet, anyway). I would definitely have to read a manual for modern ranges, but this one is quite simple to just figure out. The labels in the top cover help you deal with...

The centre label. There's an automatic roast control! I have never used it though. You can also see the 8 fuses. One for each element - 4 on top, 2 in the oven. Two for the lamp, rotisserie, and left/right outlets.

I don't have the instruction manual for this thing, but most of the operation is basic, and can be summed up as follows... The left label...

Close up of the clock and oven controls. The glass is still dirty but I'm working on that. It's much nicer than before. When the "Minute Minder" goes off, it's a slow *ding* *ding* *ding* ... It's not very loud but it's nice to hear a real bell. :)

Just cleaning up a Lady Kenmore.. some pics

Here's the console. There's paint from an old pot that must have boiled dry. Tough to clean that. I'll have to look into getting a replacement. The paint is also coming off the console cover. You can see the fluorescent light from under the top cover. The "cool white" contrasts with the warmer...

Just cleaning up a Lady Kenmore.. some pics

A long overdue cleanup... This was a range picked off the curb a long time ago - 20 years ago or more. It was stored in a garage for a long time after that, before it came into daily use. I wasn't a collector back then (too young, and I'm still not really, although I've come to have a few nice...

    GE Spacemaker .. thoughts?

I have to agree with apartment complex abuse. Things really have to be made tough - A lot of people simply don't know better or don't care about the equipment. It's similar with student-used equipment. Above "commercial grade" would be "student grade" :) This machine was family-owned though, and...

    Everyone meet Horsey->LG

They could have put cooling fans, but that would make things more complex and more costly; fans fail remarkably quick too. I think a washing machine is still not complex enough that it requires forced air cooling for its compute power. You'll notice that even the motor doesn't have separate...

    GE Spacemaker .. thoughts?

I do have to say, the "Magic Filter" really filters. There are two of them and they seem to trap a decent amount of lint. I have to clean the lint out as well as give the filters a good rinsing after a wash. The old Maytag A207 doesn't trap nearly as much. I guess more of it simply gets flushed...

    GE Spacemaker .. thoughts?

Okay Malcolm... In 3 parts, the 2nd being the longest. I took off the front portion of the lid, but left the back which I put down during spin. This is easier than holding the switch but blocks part of the view; the spin cycle can be tiring to hold the switch for. I would have put more items...
