    Coil element temperature limiting

Re: #23 This is information from an AHAM communication provided earlier this year to let us know what is coming: AHAM and its member companies have proposed to UL and the Canadian Standards Association a test procedure to evaluate sensors and other devices that will prevent cookware from...

    Coil element temperature limiting

Re: #24 I enclosed a pic of the 11" pot that we used. It absolutely is a cheap pot; that was kind of the point. We weren't doing this experiment to find out the best way to boil water. This is more a case of seeing what happens in the real world. If people who were using whatever quality...

    Coil element temperature limiting

We've got a business to run. Chances are low, but I don't want to run the risk of a manufacturer deciding that something on the internet that's negative about them is a good reason to pull a product line. I saw what happened with Lorain.

Couple questions for SQ dealers Re: DR7 dryer (Combo52?)

I made a pic file. We'll see if this looks good enough.

    Coil element temperature limiting

Re: #16 The reason that I started this whole thread is because we've been experimenting with the new ranges and are totally seeing problems. We have two primary brands of coil element ranges that we sell. I'm not going to name the brands, but someone paying attention could probably figure out...

Couple questions for SQ dealers Re: DR7 dryer (Combo52?)

Service Bulletin There is an Alliance service bulletin from a couple months ago regarding this problem. I couldn't find a pic online of the bulletin, but the number is :FB18-28R1 If you're going to have a warranty tech come and service it, they should be aware of it. Otherwise I can find...

    Coil element temperature limiting

Re: #2 We are being told that we will see some type of limiting capability coming to gas next year.

    Coil element temperature limiting

Re: #4 For now, regular replacement burners will be available to change out the burners with the limiters. As a dealer, we're hard pressed to figure out how to pitch this to customers. Just replacing the burners outright would put us in line for possible liability if there were a fire...

    Coil element temperature limiting

So, due to new regulations meant to limit cooking oil ignition on traditional coil element surface burners, new ranges sold in the U.S. must have temperature limiting capabilities. The new limiting burners have been coming out throughout the last year and it seems that now they are on sales...

very Strange problem GE model gtw485asj0ws

There is a GE service bulletin regarding this problem that has to do with plastic flash in the tub pressure chamber port. One of the symptoms is drain pump starting up on its own.

    New Speed Queen owner

Actually the last year for the mechanical controls was last year (2017.) We sold tons at the end of last year when we knew the new machines were coming. I concur that these are awesome machines and we'd still be selling them as fast as we could get them if they were still available.

    Dexter twin tub

We picked up this Dexter twin last night. Anyone knows a date of manufacture for this machine?

Is this a GE Profile Filter Flo dryer?

Re: fan-of-fans I started working in the appliance world in 1995, the last full year for the filter-flo machines. We were selling GE, Profile, and RCA at that time and all of them were available. As the new T-line machines became available in 1996, Profiles were the first ones we were able to...

    De-liming dishwashers?

Regarding integrated water softeners I don't know about other areas of the country, but in this region, the water is pretty hard no matter where you get the water from. Municipal supplies tend to have 20 to 30 grains hardness and rural is much worse. My parents' well is 75 grains hardness...

    '13 VMW MT Centennial problem...

Run the diagnostics and look for error codes. Lid light flashing during operation means that an error code has been registered. In your case it sounds like you likely have a failed latch assembly at a minimum.

Questions about specs and your experiences: Speed Queen DR7

I'm going to disagree on one point The model that you cite looking at, the DR7, is a moisture sensor model. We have sold a number of the new moisture sensing models this year but because they are so new, have had limited feedback so far. If you were looking at one of the lesser models without...

    Is this a bad bearing?

Likely a bad trans. When these spin they make a loud hollow noise that is a dead giveaway for bearing failure. It'd be easier to know if that's all you have bad if there was vid of it in the machine while spinning.

    Appliance repair technician

Hello Rob I'm not too far from you either. I've been an appliance tech for just short of 25 years. I started out self taught and then completed a two year HVAC/R degree at a vo-tech school. It made a world of difference for me in two areas. Doing sealed system work was something I didn't do...
