    Happy Birthday Elizabeth Montgomery!

sewer pump station no. 1 As some one who grew up in Gloucester, Ma., I remember when the cast of Bewitched came to the north shore in 1971, the scenes in Gloucester, when they went to the Gloucester House restaurant, and Serena reanimating the Man At The Wheel, the reanimation took place atop...

Crash Test 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air VS. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu

50 years The Bel-Air has 50 years of corrosion on its body. On the passenger side shot, you can see rust powder coming out. While I'm sure an '09 car is safer, I don't think this is an exactly equal comparision.

    Doc Martin

    Have Gun-Will Travel

In my recession search for free entertainment, I found this on CBS.com, I never saw it before. It's quite a change from the usual 50s, 60s westerns. Paladin as the urbane gunslinger, quoting poetry and living in San Francisco (!). According to Wikipedia, Maureen O'Hara said Richard Boone and...

    Mad Men

Joan Holloway Joan is one of my favorites, wondering what will happen with her and the handsome young surgeon. She does seem to have the doomed life. They do have an out of date GE fridge in the office break room, looks like the same one Don and Betty had. What a nice alternative to the reality...

    Mad Men

I thought this was a particularly good episode...Peggy's mother laying on the guilt after she bought her a new Admiral...Sal's wife catching on....Don and Betty's daughter after the death of her father...the only show I make a point of seeing..

    POTD 09/01/2009

Dressing Down It is a step down from those GE ads from the 30s when men in tuxedos and women in evening gowns were looking at refrigerators.

    Sen. Edward Kennedy passed away.....

Filling the vacuum I don't think Mass. can go for very long without a Kennedy in office, As someone who grew up there, I know anyone who runs with the last name Kennedy will get elected. Old man Joe is still pulling the levers somewhere.

    POD Tramatic appliances

Fabulous Fifties Never thought of that. I guess you could have one color appliances and another color cabinets. And people say the 50s were dull. Looking at the color charts for 50s autos is amazing.....pink, coral, mauve, lilac, I was looking at the big 70s luxo coupes on Hemmings and...

    "Rude" Wal Mart Employees

No Hope People who work at Walmart know there isn't much in their future, I wouldn't go in there expecting first class service..

The Maytag Set in the first year of 'I Dream of Jeannie'

Beverly Hillbillies In the early episodes they had a push button washer and dial dryer, then later got a push button dryer too. I wonder why they upgraded when apparently they never used them? They always had the same towels on the shelf above. I figured Granny used a washboard.

American humor -> am I missing something?

You're too European I had my German aunt stay with me for 2 weeks, and when we were watching a comedy on TV she would keep saying, "You think this is funny?", by the way, one of her favorite shows was Ice Road Truckers. Just shows to go....

    POD Tramatic appliances

General Electric says "Mix or Match". Has anyone ever seen a kitchen, laundry where the colors were mixed? Would be quite a kitchen.

Spend eternity on top of Marilyn Monroe

$4,500,000.00 Amazes me that there are that many people with that much money to throw around. It would be awful if the winner and Marilyn didn't get along.

    Vintage colour tv anyone?

Wow, I got color TV I had a 1964 RCA roundie, I bought it in the late 70s, it worked great for several years, actually used my 1981 RCA Selecta-Vision VCR with it. It was great to watch classic compatible color programs with....

1965 RCA Victor New Vista I bought a 1965 RCA Roundie back in the 70's, developed the cataracts in the late 80's, still worked great, New Vista Color...

    Sotomayor

Haven't seen any discussion of Ms. Sotomayor. What do you all think? I know a lot of Dems are gushing over her, she was first appointed by the first Pres. Bush. I'm thinking she might surprise us all once she gets on the court, just as Souter did....

    Let's see some music vids

Norma Tanega.... I hadn't heard this for 35 years, wasn't sure of the title, when I told people about this song, they thought I was nuts, (maybe they're right), my first link, finally figured it out...
