2014 Amana here and I always use Normal with Hi Temp or Heavy with High Temp and Cascade Platinum. Rarely is there anything on the filter. I check it about every 2 weeks.

Cascade Platinum and Finish Quantum are my go to for a full or heavy wash. I also use Cascade Complete powder for when I use the one hour wash cycle.
