    P.O.D. 3/14/14 EASY Washer

Where's the Water Level?--or is it a TIMED FILL? Reading the advertisement it looks like there is a water saver button that you have to push for a lower water lever for a smaller load. You most likely have to come back at the rinse portion and push the button again, but I could be wrong. Doug

What do you miss most about an old car...

Vent Windows I wish they would bring back the vent windows on the front doors, they were great for ventilation and air changes in the car. Doug

    Dishwasher whirlpool 1960s - $100 (Grafton)

Remember that Model Well Wow, I remember that dishwasher well, my parents bought that same model dishwasher back in 1966 when we moved into a new house, as they didn't take the hotpoint from the old house. I thing my mom wasn't going to put up with washing dishes by hand after having a...

    Ephemera: 1955 Kenmore Question

It's a 2 Speed Machine I believe when Kenmore introduced the Modern Fabric cycle(delicate cycle) to their washing machines it would indicated that this is a 2 speed machine. And the machine shown above is definitely close to/or if not top of the line in the Kenmore lineup for the time. Doug

WANTED TURQUOISE OR YELLOW WASHER & DRIER

Welcome to the club! I guess you can check the usual sites such as Craigslist and the Shoppers Square for appliances. I don't know how much vintage stuff in turquoise or Yellow you will find in Northern NJ as most people toss everyting out when they find old appliances. You may want to check...

    Dishwashers Alternating Wash

I will guess to say that there is not enough water in the tub to be diverted to all spray levels at one time. A cup of water can only go so far in cleaning a load of dishes. Doug

    Foaming Dishwasher HELP!

HI David, You didn't mention whether you have hard or soft water, I have soft water and found out that using certain Finish packs create a foaming issue which reduces the wash action. I have switched to Finish powder and don't have that problem anymore. I am sure the gelpacks are disolving, but...

    Dishwasher detergent and your machine

I use powder Cascade or Finish only. But we have soft water in the house so that helps a great deal as that eliminates all sorts of issues such as adding LCB, vineger, glisten, citric acid etc. Dishwasher is always clean with no residue. Doug

How did this Lady Kenmore work?

You could have a soak and prewash but the machine would stop at the end of prewash and you would have to change the cycle to Delicate, let that run through the Delicate cycle, then manually advance the timer to 2nd rinse. The timer dial you show is the normal cycle, with the modifiers of soak...

Bureau of Silly Threads Presents: My First Car

My first car was a 1977 Ford Granada sport coupe, mine was black and when it was clean WOW it was a good looking car. It had a 302 V8 and was loaded with just about everything at the time. It was a very dependable car and never left me stranded. I wish I had that car back today, ugh! Doug

Would you have a spin dryer?

The Laundry Alternative Spin Dryer Well I will say that I bought a spin dryer and think it is great. It spins out the excess water from the really heavy fabrics and cuts dryer time by 10 to 15 minutes. I find myself putting everything but shirts in the machine to lighten the dryer load and it...

    Convertible Whirlpool Dishwasher spotted

We had that same exact model and color growing up, except it was a built-in. It is a powerhouse of a dishwasher and it really cleanup pots n pans. Ours lasted 14 years before it died, I think it was something in the timer that went bad and killed itself. I would have been hard to pass that...

    Maytag Over-ride

Very Simple, after the machine fills for wash, change the water temp switch to cold for the rinse temp. If you don't have that option, turn off the hot water faucet after the machine fills for wash, and the rinse will be cold. Doug

1971 Simpson -Sears (Canada) stoves etc

I will have to say, looking at the catalogs, brings back memories of ordering items from Sears. Sears always seemed to carry everything, and if you couldn't find it in the catalog, you knew you couldn't find it anywere. Was sorry to see the Sears Catalog come to an end. Doug
