1960's GE electric Stove and Refrigerator $1,000 · In stock Listed in Palmetto, FL

Phil, After avocado replaced turquoise, harvest gold replaced yellow.  HG was introduced in the spring of 1968, but I'm not certain when yellow really disappeared and if remained available until the HG introduction.  The color palette remained stable until the 1977 models came out and GE...

My Summer of Vintage Washer Rubber Reproduction

Robert, This is just awesome!  What an achievement, for each item.  I love the fire engine red scrubber cap in the pink Kenmore - sexy!   I know of one 1958 Filter-flo that now resides in Texas that needs the appropriate Activator cap.  Hopefully Melvin will grab one from you.  ...

Dash woman with Geometric Haircut Dies

That's sad That ad for Dash is one of my all-time favorites.  I just love the model's expression, hair style and makeup.  It all makes for the perfect 'Mod' look of the period.   At least now I know who the model is and something of her life and of her passing.   lawrence

1960's GE electric Stove and Refrigerator $1,000 · In stock Listed in Palmetto, FL

The refrigerator appears to be a 1966 model (TBF-16S), which was the last year for Turquoise Green (and wasn't even offered for the full year, being replaced in April by Avocado).  The Americana range (J772) could be the same year or earlier.   lawrence

    Another Unimatic Found!

Robert That's an amazing find!  And it shines just as new.  Congratulations on your newest toy.   One question about it; yours opens to the rear, in Greg's photos his opens to the left.  Are they not the same model/year?  Is it possible to change the hinge position by rotating the top (there...

1966 Frigidaire washer for sale in Oneida NY

Is this one that shows up as a POD occasionally in an advertisement that basically says 'You can go for this or you can go for that'?  The two washers appear at first glance to be identical, but one does offer the Rapid spin and the other does not.   lawrence

    Kitchen-Aid KDS-57 Dishwasher

Were KA portables like this one capable of being converted to a built-in?  Sears readily advertised the capability of their portables to be built-in later, but I don't recall KA making that claim.   lawrence

    Lovely aqua GE self-cleaner

I believe this is a 1964 model.  John can confirm.  Initially the P-7 models did not offer an oven door with a window, so the panels on the front just offer some dress-up to the TOL 40" model.   lawrence

    Beware the Pinkness ...

My eyes! My eyes! What's really scary is someone's going to pack up all that sh*t and take it somewhere new and presumably do it all over again.   lawrence

    BOL GE Dryer

Glenn, Got that right!  It might be BOL, but it has automatic dry AND the magnetic door latch with step-on pedal.  A very unusual dryer.  I'd take it in a heartbeat if it were local.   lawrence

Anyone know where the model number might be on this Maytag range?

Nice! I've always liked the styling of these ranges. I think they were basically Hardwick ranges. Has anyone tried to lift the top? It might be hinged at the rear for cleaning, and the information you're looking for might be on the sub-top. lawrence

    Help Identifying this GE Range?

Sweet range!  I believe it's a 1961 model.  I think it's the range that was featured in advertising in bright red, and touted the speed with which it would boil water.  I believe the model number is J-304.   lawrence [this post was last edited: 7/22/2024-17:11]

Look at what's in the kitchen

I think the asking price for the listing reflects the property's potential as a commercial development.  It's located a quarter mile from the intersection of two US highways, next door to a seafood business, and it's already zoned B-2.  The house is likely what's left of a farm, maybe quite...

Look at what's in the kitchen

A real estate listing in Dothan, AL.  Listing says that the house was built in 1940, which is probably accurate, but looks like the kitchen was remodeled about 1965.  Look closely to Photos 7 and 9.   lawrence https://www.trulia.com/home/223-campbellton-hwy-dothan-al-36301-76017731
