GETTING A NEW (TO ME) TYPEWRITER.

I prefer the Selectric II over the Selectric III.  The lighted margin scale on the III is nice.  The keys on the III are anti glare and larger than the II's keys.  I've never really had a problem with glare off of the keys on my II.  Here's a video of my early IBM Model 85 electronic, talk about...

GETTING A NEW (TO ME) TYPEWRITER.

<span style="font-size: x-large; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">IBM Wheelwriter 30.  The seller said it gives a printwheel error code, well of course it does, it doesn't have a printwheel installed.  I have a bunch of Wheelwriter ribbons and printwheels left over from a machine that...

    Who's That Lady?

    <span style="font-size: large; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">Those old WP/KM belt drive machines, were very quiet. I find their sounds quit relaxing. </span>   <span style="font-size: large; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif;">PS:  She's beautiful :-)</span> <span...

Introducing the Wards "Everything" Box Fan

I need to get me a vintage fan. I use a fan in my bedroom almost year round, and the new fans only last about a year or year and a half.

    Curious about E2M

Having to reset the timer to keep it going when wringing could get a little annoying. I know if I had a wringer, I would definitely need a timer of some sort. I would get distracted and forget all about the load washing, LOL.

    Curious about E2M

Does the time actually shut the machine off? Never seen one of those before.

    KitchenAid Stand Mixer Scraper

The plastic has started to crack and peal on the original scraper for my K45SS mixer, and I'm thinking of getting this one as a replacement. Has anyone used one, do you like it, not like it?

    Roasting A Turkey

It turned out delicious and very moist. It was done sooner than I anticipated. Even my gravy for the mashed potatoes turned out really good, first time and certainly not the last time for using Wondra.

    Roasting A Turkey

I just started a new job as a laundry aid at a nursing home, and they gave all their employees a free Butterball turkey. I have mine roasting in a Nesco electric roaster at this very minute, and it smells wonderful. I seasoned with the salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. I usually...

An easy (but good) stew recipe needed.

My mother could make the best soups and stews, and she never used a recipe. I wish she would have written some of her "in my head" recipes down for me.

An easy (but good) stew recipe needed.

I'm in the mood for homemade beef stew. I have stew meat, potatoes, carrots, and peas. I just don't know what spices to use, and what is the best way to thicken it cornstarch or four.
