Norge's 4 Seasons Hair Dryer is Recommended!

Love it . . . This is beyond cool. They should also have had an attachment to flock Christmas trees, after all it is a Norge!

    Miele Ranges and Rangetops

Great Link! I love having native Autocad dwg downloads from manufacturers! I suspect Miele will do fairly well with the gas ranges here though don't see much market for high-end electrics aside from perhaps a few induction models. Miele should offer those if they don't, or even better a range...

The Story Behind the V12 General Electric Filter-Flo Washer

I doubt that many of today’s appliances will be rebuilt 40 years from now. Parts won’t be available, in particular electronic modules, and the cost to replicate them will be high. Much the same is true of old cars, I hate to think of how anyone in 2055 will restore a 2015 car full of electronics...

The Story Behind the V12 General Electric Filter-Flo Washer

Great Article . . . What a neat little article on one of the most iconic and best washers of all time! I’m sure John is correct in his opinion of  quality control in manufacturing being better than ever, but that has to balanced against much greater complexity, particularly with regard to...

A Ford in every driveway -

Wonderful Videos! I’ve always been fascinated by these machines, what a shame nobody else used this design. I wonder if it would be possible to mount a small hula girl on the chrome plated top of that beautiful blue hulatator to make sure everything is indeed “hula clean”?

    Road Trip? MAYBE.

Looks like a nice refrigerator at a good price. If I were in the market I'd be tempted to snag it even without the icemaker. Clean, well kept and well priced 40+ year old bottom freezer refrigerators don't come up everyday and I'd rather give up an icemaker than settle for a top freezer.

Fantastic resource for vintage interior design and appliances...

I'm guessing the room above isn't a kitchen but rather a large and plush laundry/utility room where the household help might also have had their meals. I've never seen many kitchens outfitted with big chest freezers, mostly they were relegated to a garage or utility room along with the laundry...

    POD 10/4/14

Yup . . . Who wouldn't want a lovely big laundry room like that!

    Can you name these

Got 'em all . . . It's either too easy or I'm too old.

    Move Over, Mustang!

firedome . . . I normally am not inclined toward red cars but with the black top and those wheels that's a great looking Mustang, just enough retro. In particular I much prefer those taillights over the next generation trapezoidal version. The V6 probably weighs less than the V8 too which...

    Move Over, Mustang!

Early Camaro . . . My friend Charlie very possibly bought the first Camaro sold to a private individual. In the fall of ‘66 he had recently graduated from high school and was working for his family’s roofing company. He was also a total motorhead and sometime street racer who was driving a ‘59...

Everything old is new again -GE Monogram brand's new French Door wall oven

I think that when Electrolux takes over they should offer it as a Frigidaire and in the customer's choice of turquoise, yellow, white or stainless. Might put some less clunky handles on it too . . .

    After all these years...

Nice finds! I love the laminate top on the Mobile Maid, and of course that fabulous suitcase Hoover . . . pretty appropriate it just appeared in Product Stat.

Gas stove replacement: Any reason to buy new?

First question I’d ask is what size you can accommodate. If there is some flex in this then you’re more likely to find something old that suits. If it doesn’t look like there is much good old vintage stuff around then it’s worth looking for a non-vintage but used Wolf or Viking. As an...

    The Elégante 92...

Wow . . . I love the brochure and toy, very cool indeed! How many years was the Elegante 92 design made?

Sweden's Electrolux to buy GE appliances

Yup, too bad the wig company can't be something really classy like Eva Gabor Wigs . . .

    The Elégante 92...

Robert . . . Thanks for elaborating on this Blackstone! If it was an interim design I wonder why the production life was so short as to leave only one known example? I know Blackstone was never a common brand but this version seems to be in the ultra-exotic category like your Apex or '48 GE one...

    The Elégante 92...

Another wonderful and interesting article, these are all much appreciated!   Where did this design fit in the chronology of Blackstone? IIRC (and I may be wrong!) some Blackstone derived designs were made in Australia, were any of them similar to this?

Learn how to cook with Delia Smith

Classy . . . That looks scrumptious! However, when I saw the line “Delia's Introduction and Trailer” at the start of the video it got me to thinking of cooking and trailers and naturally Jolene Sugarbaker came to mind. Jolene is quite the mistress of fusion cuisine, in this video she whips up...

Regular wall/ceiling mounted or Console Unit

I’m not sure what is meant by a “console” a/c unit. Mini splits have some advantages but I see them as useful mainly when you’re wanting to add a/c to a specific space, not a whole house. They’re great if you just need a/c in one bedroom at night and don’t want to run a big central system or if...
