Hello everyone. I just picked up this mid 80's GE Dryer. Nothing special but the thing is - it's practically BRAND NEW. As the story goes - the owner's mother bought it new and never used it as she preferred to hang clothed outside. The woman I bought I from said her mother maybe used it...

THIS IS MY DISHWASHER!!! I have this model and I LOVE IT!!! It looks like its in good shape and they are an easy fix. Someone get this!!!

I see it looks chewed up... but did the activator come off easy or was it bound up? I've seen worse so this can't be that bad...

HA! Well, since you already have the activator off, you can remove the plastic hub on the bottom of the drive shaft to reveal the bolts for the inner tub. Pop the top - two latches up front, with a flat screwdriver,-and raise it up and prop it against something behind it. Then remove the...

I think I would have kept it and tried to make it work - they are always easy to fix - I can see your point though if you felt it wasn't worth it but this overall seems to be a good machine. However, if the drive shaft was chewed up - god only knows what the state of the transmission was...

No - its actually not hard at all The best thing to do, if you are new to this, is to get one of those service manuals that they sell on ebay for the older ge washers. They tell you how to do everything and with pictures, step by step. GE's are easy to repair which is another reason I like...
