Question, Why did they design that fill flume like that outside of the tub contrary to everyone else putting it inside the tubs? This prob explains why there was a restrictor in the water valve solenoid. To keep it from overflowing into the inside of the cabinet since it's open ended. Just seems a dumb idea.
Also, after seeing my machine filling. do you think the fill is too wild? it almost spreads around the tub.

..I wasn't able to fold my nozzle back like you did, so I had to cut it and I think I may have cut off too much. How good is that top of tub to cabinet seal?

The fill flume air gap is placed on the outside to allow it open to the atmosphere....just in case of a power outtage, it would not allow water in the inner tub area to backflow and contaminate the potable/drinking water......

you can never cut off too much so to speak....any excess will hit the splash shield, and bounce in to the tub.....either way, you have great flow onto the load now.....sometimes I had to use pliers to flip it back on itself....just a thought....

that top seal should seal enough to keep all water inside the unit.....if any small drip comes out.....2 things, either replace the seal, OR, take four small metal washers, remove the outer tub hold down bolts and place underneath, replace the screws, and the top will now fit tightly against the top....no more leaks...

Almond seems to be the popular color all of a sudden....not one of my favorites...

I ordered a set of repair guides for this series of GE Washer and Dryer.

Yes, pretty happy considering that it was described to be a cherry, A-1 working machine, tested no less!. Yet when it arrived it couldn't even hold it's own water. It was leaking from 2, places, the spot scrubber pinch hose was split spraying a good volume of water everywhere and the tub seal and clamp were completely loose. Both considerable costly repairs in parts and labor had I not been able t temp bypass the pinch hose portion of the machine (rendering it a simple Filter-Flo with a funny colored mini-basket), and reusing the old tub boot with the clamp that yogi sent me. Not to mention all the blood I gave to the local mosquito population that managed to put up with the overdose of off I applied. I guess things are looking up.
But really, without the help of fellow club members like yourselves. I more than likely would have told this dude to take his expensive paperweight back home with him.
I am sure if the machine could talk it would be thanking me from rescuing it from Sandford&Son's hell back in St. Petersburg.

I am going to convert this shed to my new laundry labrotory/work shop.

I ordered this Hotpoint Washer timer knob to replace the faded plasti-chrome one I have now.

....as far as saving the pinch hose. I figured I would use a bicycle inner-tube repair kit to seal up the split from the outside. Then run a short piece of inner-tube on the inside, to keep it water tight. but when they call it a "pinch valve", they mean it. It's more liker an electro-mechanical guillotine.
I'd also like to know if an indicator light could be spliced into the solenoid circuit to illuminate whenever it's active.
The same goes for the water temps selection. Blue for cold, red for hot, and both on for warm?

Yes, there's plenty of open real estate on the control panel to accommodate them all!
