    New Ariel Excel Gel

Tesco claimed the £1.88 offer ran until 14th October too. Their full price is 50p more than all the other supermarkets normal £3.99 price - Every Little Helps! They'll probably drop the price to £3.99 before long and claim it to be one of their hundreds of price cuts.

    New Ariel Excel Gel

My guess is that the new products have specific enzyme formulations that work in cold water and so a non-bio version wouldn't work.

It's now in Sainsbury's at £2.99 and Tesco at £3.

    New Ariel Excel Gel

Hi David, I didn't know that about OBs in the old colour liquids. And I'm surprised at those Which? results too. I think Persil S&M works best on only lightly soiled stuff. I've always found Ariel liquids superior on proper stains. Really surprised that the Ariel Gel shifted curry stains -...

    New Ariel Excel Gel

Got all 3 from Asda too - a bargain at £2 each! The bottle was much bigger than I was expecting but looks really nice. The gel has a great scent too and a thick consistency similar (but a bit thicker) to the regular Bold liquids I thought. They clean brilliantly well. So far, better results...

Ariel - in a new gel format!

The advert shows powder (hot), liquid (warm), liquitabs (cool) and the new gel bottle (cold). I dread to think what the price will be for this thing. I bet it will be at least £5 seeing as their 2X liquids are £4. It makes sense now as to why P&G launched their 2X liquids with absolutely no...

Happy 50th Your Madge! BTW - I doubt that stuff about her forbidding people mentioning 50 is true. She said herself that she isn't bothered by it!

    The Incredible Shrinking Palmolive

Yeah, P&G have done this with some of the Fairy washing-up liquid range in the UK. New shape bottles that are 450ml instead of 500ml and a price increase too! They've also shrunk Fairy and new Bold laundry products but left them in the same size packaging so it's not obvious until you read the...

    Washing temperature and saving money...

I was all colours at 30C with Persil or Ariel Colour and whites I tend to do at 40C - especially white shirts. Less grubby whites can be done at 30C with say, Persil Bio and I honestly can't tell the difference than if I had washed them at 40C. I used to do whites at 60C - but again found that...

    Sainsbury's Novon Detergent

They didn't stop making it - it just lost the Novon name, in favour of the Sainsbury's name. Most supermarkets used to make up a brand name for own label detergents, Safeway had Cyclon, Asda had Logic and Tesco had... one I forget the name of. No doubt they were all made by the same company as...

I haven't seen this fabric care lable before!!

The stain resistant and wrinkle free properties are why you shouldn't use softeners. You could use them and not cause any harm to the trousers, but they have obviously been treated with something to give them those properties and using a softener might mean that after washing they aren't stain...

New Lenor 'Energy' in UK supermarkets

So Comfort brings out an orange colour conditioner, 3 months later one arrives from Lenor - quelle surprise! I noticed in Tesco last night that regular Lenor 750ml bottles are now £2, (the same as the premium Lenor Infusions range) and Fairy 750ml is now £2.30!! What a rip off - I'll be staying...

UK Persil "with the freshness of Comfort"

Have to agree, Tesco are crap at getting new stuff - they always seem to be last and Sainsbury's and Asda are always first! Tesco have only just got the 2 new(ish) Comfort tropicals, the new P&G '2x' liquids and the new Bold and Lenor products too - and not even the full range at that. And...

New Persil (Unilever) and Skip (FR) ads

Fab advert - I've seen the Omo & Skip versions on YouTube for a while. It's yet to start in the UK, we're still getting the "Spiderman" kid ad.

    Detergents don't cause allergies?!

Not surprising. The UK is pretty much the only place that markets non-bio as a "gentle" detergent and people have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. If it was true, surely every single country would have non-bio as a sensitive skin detergent. I'm sure P&G and Unilever know this, but choose...

    Electrasol is now....Finish!

"Electrasol" is such a crap name, (it sounds like a name for a vibrator) you should be glad they're ditching it! ;-)
