Most Kenmore dishwashers were made by D&M until about the mid 80s, usually they did not last long and that is why Sears sold so many dishwashers.  Then they started to source some machines from Whirlpool and they were much better.  Most D&M dishwashers have long been recycled/to the landfill...

Enjoy the DW and the wallpaper front... while you can.  D&M dishwashers like this one are not known to last long.  And the problem is likely the inlet valve.

When Maytag took over Norge to create the Atlantis washer - did they make it any less aggressive?  Or does the Atlantis hard on clothes too?
