1965 lady Kenmore dryer

The newer style doorhandle is original to this machine the matching never used washer we got with it also has the style handle on the lid.

Our dryer was built the 51st week of 1965 so it is sort of a late build model.

I never saw any 1965 Kenmore dryer with the indoor sprinkler system but maybe they had it early on and I just haven’t seen it.

Sears continued dryer production even after they stopped production of the matching washers for a year to because they were really pushing to get Americans to buy clothes dryers so even if you had a new washer last year the sales people would tell you we still have a matching dryer for your you’re two year old for washing machine .

I like the old style drum better

They must have went to the stationary back of the drum because it was probably cheaper that way.  What's the story behind this never-used dryer, was it still in the box?

Thanks for posting that info John. The later 1965 build date explains the handles. This is going to be a great every day driver set for many years to come. There can’t be very many of these sets remaining in turquoise. There are a few here because this site exists to assist people in keeping them going for sure. Enjoy!

On a side note if you run across the heat push button for one of these I could use one.
