Frigidaire Film: Out Of This World

Very cool! Was that refrigerator cart actually produced? I did have to laugh at the one line--"look how much that dishwasher holds" for obvious reasons... *ducks and runs*

25 years musing on washer restoration: The front loader vs the top loader.

'53 Duo Greg, how on earth did you come across that beautiful machine? Was it never used and new-in-crate? How much work did it need before it was running? Now I'm quite curious!!!

Heads up: Commercial Maytags in Austin TX

Yes, they can. Block inserts can be used to bypass the coin mechanism, or you could just re-use the quarters by simply leaving the coin box unlocked our out, which is how Ross's coin-op Laundromat works. No manual advancement of the timer though. There were identical machines to these at a...

GE Filter Flo -Walking all over the place

If you removed the outer tub (which I'm assuming you did) to get the recirculation nozzle out, did you make sure to tighten the tub bolts up? An improperly mounted tub could cause a HUGE problem.

    Frigidaire skinny mini, I think?

The Synchro-Swing Frigidaires are fun machines and have surprisingly good action. By all means grab it...it would have already been brought home if I saw one!

Speed Queen-Hotpoint Parts Find, Rather Rare !!!

Jimmy, what a haul, especially the Hotpoint Duo-Load minibasket and the elusive Speed Queen filter. It is quite fun to see in operation as well, lots of water-slinging action. Were these from a closed-down former appliance/parts dealer? I'm curious to see the machines as well. With these finds...

Having a look at an old shop

Oh but you NEED that washer!! Making room for a GE Kitchen C That Eureka looks like it's in the best shape out of all of the vacs. I don't see a hose or attachments, but no big deal. I'll have to talk to Tom Gasko as either he may have some or there may be some in the Kirby basement, we'll see...

Having a look at an old shop

Wow Glenn, I didn't realize it was going to be this great, especially that new Whirlpool sign, that's just awesome! Will definitely look great in the garage Studio...especially if you get the machine that goes with it ;-) The NIB 80's Zenith clock radio is awesome...if you don't want it, I do...

If it's May, it MUST be ...

Geoff, what a FABULOUS machine, congratulations! Those A700s definitely have a lot of glitz and glamour, and this one is no exception...it cleaned up beautifully. Are you going to run a maiden load anytime soon? ;-) I'd say keep the sales sticker on too, unless it starts peeling that is.

    New for 1979...

Hi Scott, It's the 24-incher from 1981. I agree that the tub ring is strange compared to the others; I'm not exactly sure why they designed it like that, at first I thought it had to do with the snubber, but it sits in the normal position (in this case, it's lower than the top lip on the tub...

    Home Queen Wringer Washers

Didn't someone say that these machines were of subpar quality as well, compared to the REAL Speed Queens?

    New for 1979...

So the Fax is Turkish! I completely forgot where it came from and was too tired (after hauling several baskets of laundry) to go back down and check the box; all I remember is Rodney's comment about how whoever produced it probably made it for people beating their clothes on rocks or washboards...

    New for 1979...

Hi Steve, I did take some footage earlier of the 24" washing with the straight-vane, which I seriously need to download & compile for YouTube. Right now my (severely undersized) hard drive is almost full with the past two Tucson projects, and even though I put them in ZIP files using maximum...
