Where is the strangest place you have seen someone's washing machine?

I have seen a house where the washer is in a small garage converted into a dining room. As the plumbing is strange, they had their drain pipe sticking out the window of the room and had the wash water drain the (dead) plants. Also, there is a bedroom next to the dining room which has very thin...

    Internet Connections

We have broadband and phone with Virgin Media (the UK mainland cable company) for around £40 which has speeds of 50Mb download and 5Mb upload. They are doubling our speed soon, so we will have 100Mb download and 10Mb upload for the same price. We don't use their bundled router though because it...

    montpellier dryers??

My Zanussi came with a 2 year guarantee as I purchased a Jetsystem model before Christmas. Also, I bought it because I am loyal to the Electrolux group and I read somewhere that Jetsystem models have split tubs. I also wanted an inverter motor, and the Zanussi model provided me with that. Don't...

    montpellier dryers??

Just on a side note, it seems that my Zanussi washer has been discontinued. No mention of it on Zanussi's website or on some online stores. Zanussi machines now have a max spin of 1400 rpm. I wonder if a new range is coming soon...

    montpellier dryers??

Would my Zanussi dryer also be made in Poland? This is because it also does not mention where it was made, but it came with a care and use sticker with "Zoppas Electrolux SpA" on it. I know that Zoppas is a marque of Zanussi. It is a ZDC47200W.

    montpellier dryers??

My ZWH716J is from December. Just a little bit worried, as UKW said that all Electrolux products have non-serviceable drums.

    montpellier dryers??

I had a Jetsystem XC6 , the FJD1266W, until last year. It was the best machine I have ever used in terms of performance and reliability. It did not have a repair in the 9 years it was in use and it did 7-10 loads a week. I keep wondering where my current machine is made, as it does not say on...

    montpellier dryers??

I really like these Zanussi dryers, in fact I think they are the best dryers this side of Miele. This is because BSH dryers, even though they have higher build quality, for the most part, don't reverse the drum so clothes get tangled easily. These Zanussi dryers are also very good at drying, and...

    Halo Detergent.

Their Pet Bedding detergent does look interesting and I might buy some to use for the guinea pigs and cat bedding. It does look quite expensive for what it is though, but no detergent has yet managed to remove wee stains from the blankets we use for the guinea pigs on a Synthetics 60 wash...

New Hotpoint's Without Eco Wash Launched (FUTURA)

Just remembered, didn't Hotpoint use the Futura name on fridges for a short while?

New Hotpoint's Without Eco Wash Launched (FUTURA)

Wow, I'm very impressed with these new Hotpoints in terms of both design and quality. I'd go as far to say that I would now buy one of these new Futuras instead of my current Zanussi because the quality has improved so greatly. I was put off ever having another Indesit product again after my...

    back again

I love my dryer, which is the sensor version of yours! I think Zanussi make the best dryers this side of Miele, and the drying results from mine are great. Mine takes an hour to dry a load of cottons that have been spun at 1600rpm. Do you miss not having sensor cycles, I know I would.

Your first (few) non-PC and PC computers

First, we had a 1997 Dell Dimension XPS with Windows 95 (upgraded to 98), a 5GB hard drive, 64MB of RAM, an ATI Rage graphics card and a dial up modem. Then, my dad bought a 2002 Mesh Matrix for his business with (I think) an 80GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, Windows XP and a NTL (a local cable...

What is the trick to keep your clothes white?

Oh, I got a bit confused there! Apparently, 60 degrees is when the enzymes get killed off, is this true?

Zerowatt brand on sale in Australia

Has anyone noticed that it only says 4kg above the door? Is this because it uses a smaller drum than the Italian models?

    Finding The Ultimate Dream Machine?

I would definitely have a Hotpoint washer dryer, especially the 9901/9920 in there! This is because my nana had the 9920 until recently and it was such a great machine that gave amazing results every time. Also, when I was younger, I used to help her by putting the detergent and softener and...

What is the trick to keep your clothes white?

Use a decent washing powder (i.e. Persil and Ariel) and wash around 60 degrees as the enzymes will work their best at 60 degrees. Also, line dry and use the right amount of washing powder as using too little or too much could lead to bad results. Pretreat stains (I rub in a little bit of liquid...
