Lady Kenmore refrigerator - $75 (Strasburg)

Oink oink! What a hog! At least it is very convenient. I can't imagine that pull out drawer has much insulating value.

    Older Norge 'fridge

    Gotta Love... That Norge!

    Allis Chalmers 'fridge

It was not a hydro It had a three speed transmission I believe. You could almost feel the teeth of the gears meshing together.

    Allis Chalmers 'fridge

That Alice Chalmers... Riding mower was built like a tank. You had a hard time pushing it. I believe it had an honest to god differential if I'm remembering right. At any rate it had a beefy transmission.

    1930s Hotpoint Fridge

Exactly... I would think that most evaporator doors in general met their demise by being prayed open against a mound of ice. Defrost your damn fridge people!

    1930s Hotpoint Fridge

I honestly do not know. I do know however that you are right. Most freezer doors were hinged on the right. I know my 36 flat top is that way.

NICE ! GE Retro fridge - $75 (San Luis Obispo)

Now that is nice... And the price is right. It's even an earlier cycle defrost model which should be much more efficient. Somebody needs to grab this beauty.

Older portable KitchenAid dishwasher - $25 (Berlin, CT)

Nice! I really like the look of that one. It looks much more like a modern dishwasher but still has some style.

VINTAGE Sears Coldspot Refrigerator w/ Automatic Ice Maker $175.00 OBO - $175 (South Point, OH)

Eww... That could be a nice fridge if it were clean. I don't get how some people think things will sell even if it is filthy.

    GE( turquoise)VINTAGE REFRIGERATOR - $750 (AGOURA HILLS)

$750 is very steep. Maybe somebody will pay it? Maybe.

    Allis Chalmers 'fridge

Allis Chalmers!!! I had an Alice Chalmers riding mower from the late 70s in bright orange. Took me forever to figure out the carburetor. I eventually made the old Briggs and Stratton engine drop a valve seat after I ran the engine on alcohol for a good while. At least the engine was clean...

    GE( turquoise)VINTAGE REFRIGERATOR - $750 (AGOURA HILLS)

Neat! It looks a lot like the pink one Travis got.

    OLD Hotpoint Dishwasher - $100

I like the look of it It does look rather primitive though. Looks like a normal family would have to run a load for every meal lol.

    1930s Hotpoint Fridge

Ken, You are correct. That is an old flat top design and was made after the monitor tops were killed. Likely late 30s. All of these Hotpoint's have a fan cooled condenser under the cabinet. They are very reliable but you have to oil the fan motor about once a year. Should be worth the price if...

    Vintage GE refrigerator LH-121L - $300 (sunnyvale)

Wow, $300? That is pretty steep for something that doesn't cool. These aren't even that rare, I mean compared to some of the machines that I've seen on Craigslist. I do like the look of it though and I love the roll out shelves. It is probably out of juice due to some line damage.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

Keven Don't get me wrong, I like SO2 powered fridges. They gurgle and spurt and make so many neat noises. If it wasn't for the fact that it smells horrible and can be corrosive as you mentioned it would be a fantastic refrigerant that would most likely still be in use since it is not a large...

    Two Vintage Working Refrigerators Frigidaire 1960 & 1940's - $250 (Packard & Central, Hudson)

The second fridge is a GE It is a late model flat top from the late 30s or early 40s. Super reliable. Only thing that ever goes wrong is the old rubber door seal and the wiring insulation.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

Oh, and to answer the fridge kid... As the others have stated, yours is not porcelain, it is a painted cabinet. Porcelain doesn't yellow. If you want to go the cheap route I would use thinned rustoleum appliance epoxy and a sprayer as others have suggested. If you want a perfect finish you will...

Like New '30s Monitor Top $250 (Napa County)

That is an odd combo Lovely CA unit which was the only refrigerator ever made to use Methyl Formate. Pretty much non toxic although the refrigerant has a nasty habit of breaking down and forming non condensable gasses. You simply bleed off the gasses and the fridge will work right again. I had...

    1951 GE Fridge repair

Problems with SO2 The reason why Travis said that he has encountered many stalled DRs (the earliest widely available monitor top) is due to problems with SO2 if you don't prepare the system properly. It is a really dirty refrigerant. Over time it can create hard black gunk which gums up parts...
