It might be a lower end model, but I love the cleanliness of the design. Contemporary washers/dryers make me gag: They look so cheap and plastic and ridiculously overly complex.

The styling on these are just beautiful. Clean, simple, far more classic yet modern than the contemporary plastic swoopy fake pseudo waves and crap one sees nowadays. Industrial design masterpieces.

I came across this interesting video on youtube of a washer with no central agitator: Instead it has vanes around the outer periphery of the tub that move back and forth. It also fills by weeping through the tub perforations, which I found quite unique. Was there ever such a washer marketed...

I always chuckle at "suds return"... I suppose if I was organized to wash my bed linens first and THEN wash my work clothes (typically covered in dirt and stone dust), that would work... I'm sure I'd forget and do it backwards...

Did people actually switch these back and forth from clothes to dishes? I could see it being an asset during big cooking days like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but other than that, it just seems like a bit of a chore...although I expect the pump action out those jets works pretty good for...

Those BS are among the top of my list for most handsome and desirable machines. Those are wonderful. Please, full wash cycle video...purty puhleaze, when you've got er' all set up.

I have some salt and pepper shakers that look EXACTLY like the photograph, but I don't think I'll donate them right now...
