Cleaning food trap of Hotpoint Potwasher?

A plugged water inlet valve Betting this machine is not filling up with enough water on fills because of a plugged inlet valve. Calcium in the water and such will cause this eventually. Can further prove this by adding a half gallon or so of water during the wash cycle and hear it throwing...

    Are Magic Chef dishwashers good?

Magic chef With the "cut out tunnel on bottom rack" of the magic chef - this sounds like a "tower wash" system which is not the best for water distribution to the 4 corners of the top rack. Usually there are plently of 2 full wash arm machines on facebook marketplace - just ask if they will...

    question on dishwasher detergent?

Suds -Also experienced suds with the quick packs. Gel leaves some tough items unclean but gels typically contain bleach which is nice to use sometime if smells linger in dishwasher or light soiled loads. Traditional powder suits me best especially for cooked on foods.

To pre-rinse dishes or not to pre-rinse...

Glass etching Ive had issues with etching years ago when detergents were stronger but found using less detergent stopped this. Scraper, non-rinser here and soft water im sure didnt help either. Step mom was a pre-washer with soap and the whole bit. She would rinse, wash and sometimes rinse...

KitchenAid KUDI23OBO Dishwasher Leaves Food On Dishes

Filters Something isnt right for food redepositing on dishes. As far as a drain loop - you certainly dont want water siphoning out but this isnt usually an issue unless your drain is under the machine or in basement. Can you raise the drain hose above the discharge point to prevent siphoning...

    Water softeners

Fleck brand softners About 10 years ago my softner quit which started my research of online forums on various brands of softners. Fleck brand softners is what i would have chosen then and probably now. Fleck is moderately priced yet built for longevity over brands such that are sold at box...

    Power Clean?

Detergent for powerclean For my current powerclean (kenmore version) - cooked on food soils get the cheapest powdered detergent i can find (kroger brand). Or if non baked on then i prefer the cheap kroger brand gel for chlorination/disinfection. Power scrub option (or hi-temp wash) was ALWAYS...

    Power Clean?

Clean as a whistle That whirlpool is clean w low use - not even any lime scale on the cal rod showing. The self cleaning filter on the power clean keeps itself clean. Not much can fail here other then the control board and water inlet valve. Non tall tub here just means youll not have as far...

    1964 KitchenAid Hobart Wash Quality

Repairmen and money A new pump kit installed would be a couple hundred dollars at least - which is worth their time. Your machine does not need a new pump of any sort. A plugged water inlet valve and hard water is your problem. Ive had a terrible time w repairmen actually breaking appliances...

    1964 KitchenAid Hobart Wash Quality

Poor wash quality on old dishwasher Ive had this happen as well and fixed it by installing a new fill valve on the dishwasher which is cheap and easy. -can further this by adding a half gallon of water after the machine takes in water on a fill - if its short on water, the sounds of sloshing...

    Whirlpool dish washer question

Lime from hard water use Depending on how soft your water is - using a good strong detergent like cascade boil out will wash off a light layer of calcium in just a few washes. Lemi-shine would work too.

    A "good" Kenmore dishwasher?

Kenmore Agreed! - just keep the water heat button selected to insure a 145 degree main wash (the closed detergent section). If you're not getting perfect results out of one of these machines you the operator are doing something wrong

Question regarding 2001 Whirlpool Gold DW

Parts to replace Ken, had picked up mine for 50 bucks as it was a portable model. -It had about 15 years of usage on it but the racks were in prestine shape as in no rust. Only thing i replaced on it was the fill valve which is a 40.00 part just because i didnt think the valve was allowing a...

Question regarding 2001 Whirlpool Gold DW

Thats a powerclean module dw Ken, thats an excellent find! Normal wash selection w water heat selected should be 4 water changes (r,w,r,r) with only around 8 gal water usage total. -will produce amazing results w unscraped or unrinsed dishes. Not a 4 hr model here. Miss my whirlpool powerclean...
