    A very seventies home

Actually ... ... prefered the orange tile in the bathroom to the antiseptic white. Double goes for the living room. What I don't like is *tile* in living areas; the hardwood floor was a definite upgrade.

What do you miss most about an old car...

Emilio ... ... the Chrysler 300 was one of my favorite recent rentals.

    Question about 1.6 gal. toilets

Flushometer, baby! Push and hold. You've got the full pressure of the New York City water supply at your fingertips, for as long as you need it. Release. Residue? What's residue?

What do you miss most about an old car...

I also remember ... ... back in the day when cars were land yachts, if and when you DID get into an accident -- say, slamming into a telephone pole -- the telephone pole always LOST. Not the other way around, like today.

Stan ... ... YES!!! By the way, MY dream car is the car I learned to drive:

What do you miss most about an old car...

So funny ... … when I see one of those big cars from the '70s -- particularly if it's been restored -- glide down the street here in NYC, how it turns heads! People actually stop in their tracks to gape and admire. What's so funny is that for those of us born before 1970, we remember a time...

Louis ... ... it is indeed shameful what "food" has become in America.

What do you miss most about an old car...

On vinyl ... I miss vinyl trim, too. It wasn't something pretending to be something else. It was unpretentious, but it gave a soft feel and *just enough* of a touch of luxury to make the passenger compartent feel less like a vehicle and more like a room, or an extension of one's own home.

washer111 ... ... let me see what I've had in my files on IBS. It's been a while. And tolivac -- did you realize we can grind our own peanut butter at Whole Foods? I've tried that, but for some reason it's very dry and I end up having to add extra oil just to make it spreadable.

Oh yes ... "If you are worrying about Cholesterol, DON'T. Another study based on cherry-picked data. My local Pharmacist claims that I'm wrong (Yeah, 3 degrees and still can't see how selective they were in the 7 Countries Study). Its another scam to sell you supposed "Health foods" like...

Yes! Lots of protein: fish, eggs, cheese, nuts, and seeds. Lots of vegetables: green and root. Lots of fruit: mostly apples, oranges, bananas, pears, and berries. Not a whole lot of starches, though. I've eliminated all wheat products from my diet (except organic wheat), and prefer to...

Peanut butter ... "THIS is peanut butter-not the chemical laden peanut flavored "margerine" you buy at the store." I don't buy the chemical-laden stuff. Only the all-natural stuff. This is my favorite:

Ignore calories ... A calorie is NOT "a calorie". Everyone wants to boil it down to calories, but it's the wrong focus. The body will process 500 calories' worth of olive oil far differently than it would 500 calories' worth of jelly beans. When I was 75 pounds heavier, I restricted myself...

And What's GREAT About Today's Cars?

Yes, reliability ... Cars that start on the first try. Tires that never get flat! I love how well-engineered and solid the doors are. Even the better cars back in the '60s and '70s had doors that slammed shut with a tinny clang. Today, even the cheapest cars have doors that shut with a...

What do you miss most about an old car...

Wide bench seats ... … also enabled you to actually lie down like a normal human for a proper shagging. Backseat sex in cars today is nearly impossible!
