I'm not counting on the Supremes to do the right thing. I hope that I'm wrong but I expect that a Supreme Court decision on the issue of gay marriage will be something akin to the Dred Scott decision. (Which will invalidate the laws and/or court decisions in...

I live in an apartment and have to use coin operated Neptunes. I select the following cycles: "white" (hot wash) for underwear, "colors" (warm wash) for towels, permanent press (warm wash - medium spin) for sheets and lighter colored dress pants and shirts, and "bright colors" (cold wash) for...
I worked at my local "Y" when I was in college. (I graduated in 1979). They had a manual switchboard when I worked there. You had to dial "O" and ask for an outside line when you wanted to make a call from the rotary phone in boss' office.

Hi Ray,
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. :(
Getting an infection is one of my biggest fears. I shouldn't say this too loudly -- I've been lucky; I've had psoriasis since 1964 and even though I'm constantly scratching, I haven't had any major infection. (The psoriasis in my underarms...
I've got psoriasis on my hands. Wearing rubber gloves when washing the dishes and disposable vinyl gloves when cleaning helps -- up to a point. I still need to moisturize.

Hi Steve,
I'm in Hoboken. I've been here all of my life, so the City has literally always been part of my life. In my younger days, we went there with my mom. (Don't tell anyone, but my friends and I started sneaking into the City when we were 10 years old. We took the PATH trains, because...
The JC Penny on 33rd street opened where Gimbel's used to be. (I miss Gimbel's, but I digress.) Gimbel's morphed into Manhattan Mall, which was anchored by A&S and then by Stern's. When Stern's closed, the mall was reconfigured and became much smaller. JC Penny occupies the lower levels of the mall.
